The problem is Pre-Algebra, and it is done to the 3rd Power.

I think I got it. I'm used to seeing ^ to indicate exponents, so 2 to the 2nd power would be 2^2.

So 3x7^3 = 3 x (7x7x7)
= 3x(343)
=1029
