Where to get best deal on prescription glasses and nice frame

all local big and small optical stores have huge prices, so far lowest prices are in Costco. Maybe you know better place ?

If you have a doctor's vision center in your area then I would try there. I have bought from Wal-MArt vision center before but found out later that they were even higher than the doctor's vision center. Sometimes at the doctors vision center they run specials where you buy one set of glasses get one set free or they have complete eyeglasses for like $99. that is really a good buy. I paid over $200 for mine at Wal-Mart and it turned out to be a rip-off. especially since I don't really use them. I am suppose to wear them while reading or on the computer but I don't.

I have done fairly well at both Wal-Mart and Sams, though Sams now appears to be cheaper. On the plus side, the glasses I got at Wal-Mart five years ago (!) are still in good repair, and I got the cheapest frames available. The thing that really surprised me is that the rigid gas-permeable contact lenses I got at Wal-Mart five years ago were a much better fit, and much more durable, than the contacts I bought from a "real" optometrist last year.

Right now they have single vision glasses with frames for $39 complete.

Costco is a good place to look for the best eyeglass deals; they have so many other items at the best values, why would eyeglasses be any different? Though GlassesUSA also sounds like a place to check out based on kellylm's post! Thank you all for the input.

Best eyeglass deals at Costco, huh? I will have to check this out on my next trip there. I have gotten some other great buys there but never on eyeglasses. Perhaps I will have new glasses next time I exit Costco!
