Cheap eye exam and contact lenses

Hi,

My prescription has expired and I need to do an eye exam and also get new contact lenses.
Could you tell me which the cheapest deals are out there?
Is Walmart's a good deal?

Personally, I go to a small time optometrist for my exam..usually charges me around $20.00 for exam and then order my contact lenses online. I go through coastal contacts.com just because both my daughter and I wear the 1 day accuvues and they are the cheapest thus far on the internet in prices and shipping. On top of that, they ship really fast. I've tried several other online places but have found they either took a long time to get to my residence or else the prices were to high..

*sigh* I hear you on this one. I dropped my lense down the drain! I was so mad at myself... 8 years and I've never done that!

Please! If anyone has any suggestions...I can't take my glasses another day!

I was assuming this was the same doctor who prescribed original lens---I did it just two months ago--lost my contact in Kitchen somewhere so he just ordered that one again.

I am also having this problem and just posted this question on my Facebook. I called Walmart and they said an eye exam ranges from $85 to $105. From what I have read this is pretty cheap for having no insurance, but if someone knows cheaper I would love to know! I also order my contacts from 1-800-contacts.

Do you have an America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses near you? I used to go there & they were pretty cheap. America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses - Changing the way America buys glasses! I paid to join their eye care club, where you get unlimited eye exams for 3 years or something like that.

Well I finally just went to Walmart. It was $85 for the eye exam and $75 to order my contacts through them. They have apparently merged with 1-800-Contacts. Thanks for the helpful info though. I'll have to check into them next time, although I went online and there isn't a store near me at all.

Try looking in your local yellow pages book. At the very back it will have coupons for several different things. They have one in my local book for Today's Vision for $199, it includes eye exam, a pair of glasses and 6 pairs of contacts. I hope this information helps!
