You can also try out odesk.com. They are free to use and have a lot of opportunities for those who work for home. I don't work for them, but I do work at home through them.
You don't pay to sign up, they charge your employer a finder's fee when you get a job.

I have looked into some work from home options. However, I too am hesitant as many of them do require you to pay something out of pocket before making any money. Hmm, not sure that is a good thing. I also saw something about data entry retail co and a scam. Would appreciate any information out there from those who currently work from home, thanks.

Online data entry is good work to be done from home. If anyone getting an online work on a particular pay scale then I think it should not be avoid. I earn while working from home. I do some freelancing work sometime online data entry work.

I have a friend who has worked data entry retail co. and had great success. I cannot say anything negative about it.

I think its ok to do data entry work for some organization nearest to you (having physical location near to you). Otherwise I don't believe those having some website with some entry fees and they are maximum with referral marketing.
