Question - What's The Best Self Tanner Out There?
I really hate being out in the sun for too long & I get bored in the tanning beds after just a few sessions so I think I want to try a self tanner.
Any suggestions/comments/complaints?

Great question I have been wondering about them myself.

I recently tried something that is called Jergen's Natural Glow and Natural moisturizer. It comes in three different shades and in about a week you will see results. It isn't overly expensive but the good part is it doen's leave streaks and it won't stain your hands. Etc. Also, it really makes your sking look and smell really nice.

I'm rather fair skinned and over the past few years have tried most of them. My favorite is Mary Kay's Sun Essentials Sunless Tanning Lotion. It costs about $10 for a tube and doesn't have a strong odor like some of the others. Use it several times over the course of several days to build up an even color. Follow the directions carefully and you'll get a natural looking tan.

If you start with one can you go to a darker shade once you get the first shade built up? I actually bought this then was kind of leery of using it. I have two tubes one for your body and one for your face.

I was going to try Coppertone Endless Summer Tanning Bronzing Foam but drugstore.com customers don't give it a very high rating.

I tried that Coppertone one....and even after letting it dry for 2 hours (really!) it got onto everything! Worst part is I'm quite pale, and it looked quite fake

But, I really do like 2 others, one is by Estee Lauder and the other is Neutrogena, I believe.

I use the Jergens Natural Glow myself and like that one the best so far. I've tried several others but like Jergens best.

Details, please! How many applications before you got the color you wanted and how dark did you go?

I posted earlier about the Mary Kay product I like. I would still recommend it to someone who's new to self-tanners because of the light scent and gradual, natural-looking tan.

Re: Question - What's The Best Self Tanner Out There?
I just did one application on my arms yesterday. My DH came home after work and asked if I had been tanning it was that noticable. It's a nice bronze color, nothing streaky or orange.

Done Deal... Gone!
RAOK - first person to email me with their name and address - I received a 1 oz sample, (nice size) from Dove called Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer with Subtle Self Tanners. Gradually builds up a Beautiful Summer Glow. For Medium Skin Tones. Plus 2 coupons expire 8/31/06 $1.00 any Dove EG face care product and $1.00 any Dove EG lotion. I kept the $1.00 coupon for the body wash. I love it!
You want it - it's free for the asking. Will mail out USPS. tlspiegel@qwest.net tlspiegel@gmail.com
Reason I don't want it... well, for starters today it's 115º, 4% humidity, 29º dewpoint - in the shade. I go into my pool, and I don't want a tan. It's been way over a hundred for days now.Last edited by tlspiegel -Closed; 06-04-2006 at 09:41 PM.

I am nervous to try self tanners- I have heard too many scary reviews. The Jergens one interested me though.
