Chat room men looking for little girls - check out this site.

Our local news is doing a story on men who find girls in chat rooms, talk to them about sex, and then set up a meeting.

They're talking to what they think is a 13 year old girl, but it turns out to be a husband/wife duo who have this website:

They post the men's pictures and chat dialogue here.

A local radio station did this kind of thing too. The woman who worked at the radio station would go into a chat room and pose as a young girl, and within minutes had a guy's phone number, and then they'd call him on the air and ask what he thought he was doing.

Being an avid chatter myself a while back, there are so many men - married and not - that would meet with an underage girl. I couldn't log into my IRC chat room without - in the first 5 mintues - having some guy msg me about what I was wearing, or if I wanted to "talk dirty".

I just don't think it's safe for kids to use chat rooms. Sure there are rooms targeted for teens or pre-teens, but where do you think the pedophiles hang out to find them? They pose as teens too. You think kids would learn! I still can't believe how many girls go to meet people they met online, only to find out they're men, not boys.

Anyway - it's a sick world and only getting sicker.

I agree with you, chat rooms are definitely not safe for kids. I don't even like using them myself. Forums are another story, chat rooms can be vicious too depending upon who is in there at the time. I tried MSN chat room one time, and that was it for me. The people in there will rip you to shreds, are rude, I just couldn't believe it, that was it for me.

SICKIES INDEED! I think the last chat room I was in was here at DOD. I am not comfy at all with the whole idea.

Even if you log on to play yahoo games....the men just attack ya for sex talk.

I also agree; chat rooms can be very dangerous and though it is not the intention, kids can easily end up in pedo chat rooms. As the world around us changes it is ever more important to monitor our young ones VERY closely.

I am disgusted at the idea of pedo chat rooms. I thought these had all been dissolved. If I remember correctly, Dateline did a number of shows dedicated to busting people using such chat rooms. The scariest part is that some of the men they caught actually got caught by them more than once. I am sorry but I just find this beyond sick. Let's do all we can to make these rooms obsolete.
