If you want to host JUST the banner... make a new page. Call it whatever.htm (or html). Put the banner on the page. Then ftp that page to the web. That way "whatever.htm" will go straight to the banner.

Thanks Toby-I created a page called bannerpage.htm inserted image on page and saved. Bingo!! Now hosting banner(image). Yippee! Now just have to figure out vb on DOD-give a little time, and I'll figure it out<I hope>. Will attempt to post

Ok-Gonna need your assistance. Can you insert the correct url's that I want to use-didn't understand this?? What does each line represent??

From the help page:

The [img] tag allows you to embed images within your posts. You can also combine this tag with the [url] tag to maked images become links.

Example: don't use spaces...

Or, if you just want to insert it everytime you create a post you'd do this:

WITHOUT spaces:

[ img]http://www.geocities.com/mr_bowler/ExtraGreen1animated_28548_224.gif [ /img]

and, you'd get this!

(SOMETHING is wrong... you should see the image)

Never mind... I see what's wrong... I need to add in the .gif. Hang one minute.

No Toby-I thought I could post the banner(image), and make it clickable on DoD inside a post,and when someone clicks on banner(image) it will take them to:

Did you upload the name of the image, in addition to uploading the page? It's only showing up as a errored image.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee change the name of your image to something smaller. Like ExtraGreen.gif

I'm guessing that we are doing it right-it's just that DOD isn't working??

MrB... give me some time to play around with this. Something is wrong. I never had problems until they changed to the new and improved DOD. Don't reply until I say it's all done or I can't do it. Takes too long for pages to load here.

I know you uploaded your bannerpage. Did you in addition/also upload the extragree.gif image. Everything is working but the image. It appears you didn't upload the image AND the page. When you ftp a page, you also need to ftp any and all images on that page. So they show up. Do you understand? Or is this a simple case of geocities nonsense.
