| I am purchasing people's magic collections to restock my business as an on-line Magic the Gathering reseller. Basically, I buy people's magic collections to satisfy the demands of my customers. The prices I offer for people's collections depend entirely on whether I have enough demand for the cards. When I buy collections, the price I offer is 40% - 50% of it's resale value. To get a good idea of the resale value of cards, you can refer to the "Price" column that's beside each card name on this link: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Most people will sell me their entire collection, because when they sell off their better cards, it makes it almost impossible to get a decent price for the rest of their stuff. So, I give a price for the cards that my customers want... and then the option of purchasing the entire collection at a discounted lot price (because cards that aren't in demand or have no market simply don't sell unless they are very low-priced singles or in discounted lots). Many people hold onto their old cards because they feel the value will always increase... but it's actually the opposite case unless the card is something people will always want. This is because Wizards of the Coast comes out with better cards, reprints cards, and constantly changes the magic environment... so the demand for old cards drops. Cards that used to be worth $5.00 can't even sell for .05 cents now... while some cards not only retain their value... but their value goes up significantly over time (like black lotus, ancestral recall, moxes, etc.). Also... cards that are not in mint or near mint condition won't get their full resale price (simply because people don't tend to buy magic cards that are beat-up or show signs of wear) unless they are premium or really popular cards. If you're interested, e-mail me at: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] Thanks!

| Re: Are you in the Greater Toronto area? Want to sell you Magic cards for cash? Dear Magic collector I am writing in response to your post on dealoftheday.com regarding magic card sellers. I am interested in selling my collection of magic cards in order to get some extra cash for christmas. I was a serious player a couple years ago most of my cards range from fourth to tenth edition, I have many good rares from the Urza's saga block. I have about 260 rares in my binder as well as many more in my decks. I may be interested in selling both depending on the price. I live in downtown Toronto and am happy to bring in my cards if you'd like to take a look. 40% of the selling price is more than generous. Thank you for your time and considerartion. If you'd like to contact me my number is 416 580 0762 and my email is [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] Sincerly Geordie Benham |
