Question

Hey,

I was listening to some music that I downloaded from Napster, and I was thinking about how much I would like to listen to it while driving. The only problem is... I don't have a CD burner. Hence me asking this question...

How much would someone charge me to burn a CD with some songs on there?? I am up for various barter opps. for this. I would also prefer to do this transaction with someone who has a good track record for not taking the money and then not providing the goods. (Seeing as how I will pay before anything is burned)

If this sounds like something anyone would like to do, please either post here or email me at [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

Thanks!
Adan

If you are concerned about getting what you pay for, you might want to try going throgh freeride.com. I don't remember the name of the site right off hand, but they will let you pick out songs and burn them for you. They cahrge on a per-song basis (I don't know how much since I have never used the service). Maybe someone else can remember the name of the site.

Thanks Brandi!

(Now I'm just hoping it's not too expensive and that they have the songs I want!) I'll post here if I don't find it on there, and if someone is interested.

They didn't have a few of the songs I was looking for on there.

It was 99 cents a song on there too. I guess I'll have to wait until I get a new computer with a CD-RW drive on there.

Thanks again though Brandi

It's actually a wide variety of music. Some Ska, ska-punk, punk, jazz, blues, classical, african, aboriginal, etc. lol.. the list can go on forever. Basically anything that isn't rap though.

About how much money (or a trade if you'd like) would you want for this type of deal? (if it can be made possible of course)

hmmm... I might be able to help you out, except it takes me a REALLY long time to download songs from Napster on my 56k modem (and everybody always disconnects from me ) so if you can somehow copy your mp3's to disk (preferrably a zip disk) and then send it over, I can probably burn a CD from that.

I usually charge $20 for an 80 minute CD-R, or 3 for $50. I'm not sure exactly how much shipping would cost though, but I assume it's somewhere around $3 per CD (that's about how much ColumbiaHouse charges me). So I guess if you just need one CD, it'll be about $23. If you're interested, let me know and I'll email you my address where you can send the zip disk

Um, not to burst anyone's bubble here, but I don't think you can usually play mp3's in a regular CD player -- you need an mp3 player. So just burning a CD doesn't mean you could play it in your car.

That is not true. I have burned over 6 CDs in the last two months and I play them in the car. They are mp3s which I downloaded from napster. I guess there is a format when you burn CDs, it asks you whether you want to burn CDs in mp3 format or audio and I select audio....so, it plays everywhere! I have done it and I know how to do it. The reason why I did not respond to this message is because, I do not know how to do deals like this. Not much of a business kinded person!!! And also have read too many bad experiences around here! No offense intended!

To burn CD's from napster you have to have a mp3 converter, I downloaded "right click mp3" from downloads.com for free . It works good, all you have to do is right click in (hence the name) and it becomes a .wav file, then drag and drop onto the cd-r drive.

How many songs?

Hmm.. $20 seems kind of steep. I think I'm going to look around a bit and see if I can find anywhere cheaper. Thank you very much for the offer though, I may end up going through you nsx... if you would allow it of course.

Liveagent, if you are asking how many songs I was looking to get burned onto CD... it would be no more than 12 songs. I just want those songs that I like, but don't want to buy the whole cd for.

I'll keep you updated if you would still allow this deal in the near future nsx.

Thanks,
Adan

Actually, you can if you convert them to .wav files first, and then burn the wav files to the CD. In fact, I just barely finished burning 7 CD's for somebody's wedding. I use a program called MusicMatch Jukebox because it converts the mp3's at a rate of 320kbps so the sound quality is a lot better. I haven't tried the "right click" one, although that does sound a lot more convenient. Anyway, these CD's can be played in any normal CD player... just FYI
