Question shipping question

how can you determine the cost of shipping from my zip code
to theirs is you don't know how much the pkg weighs?

I had some items for sale and they gave me they're zip code
so i went to check the shipping cost from me to them but it
asks for the weight of the pkg how do you figure this
out when you don't know how much it will weigh????

Twinplets is welcome here
Sorry, can't help you, except to say that you need to weigh the package. If it's light (like a book), it could go on a small kicthen or postal scale. If it's a little heavier, try stepping on the bathroom scale holding it, and not holding it, and the difference in weights is the weight of the package. That'll only give you an approximation, unless you have a *VERY* good bathroom scale.

Re: shipping question

I had a postage scale that is broken now.

What I sometimes do, so I know it is accurate, is go to the post office lobby and use the scale in their lobby to weigh it. If I already know the recepient's zipcode, it calculates the postage right there. I know that can be a pain to haul a package to the post office but mine is just up the street so the only hard part is my one-year old whose always with me!

Re: shipping question

Sometimes I find similar items on eBay and compare what that postage is. We also do the bathroom scale thing if it weighs enough..one weigh in without the package and one with. We also have a postal scale which is the next best thing to sliced bread!

Re: shipping question

Stamps.com usually has a deal where you get free postage and a postal scale with a 30 trial membership. It costs you nothing if you cancel before trial is up. This is how I got my postal scale.
It is good up to 5 lbs.
