Is there any interest in DoD having an Auction area, similar to Ebay? Just fishing around for feedback, so let me know your thoughts please!

Throwing in my 2 cents...
I think it would be a nice alternative to eBay for many items, but is it opening up a can of worms for you, Mayor? There's the obvious up-front cost of programming and establishing rules, then what about the inevitable disputes? If it's something that you think could grow, do you have hopes that it could balloon into a uBid, Amazon, CNET or Yahoo-sized operation, all who probably dream of someday challenging eBay? How about starting with a rudimentary classifieds section and slowly evolving it into an auction/classifieds area? Just some thoughts for consideration!
