Hey DOD-ers! - DH & I are throwing a weekend party of sorts at his parents' shore house. He's invited all of his co-workers (well, all the ones around our age) to spend the weekend at the shore this weekend. I've decided on tacos for dinner because everyone in the group likes them, they are fairly inexpensive to make, they'll be easy to prepare ahead of time & they are easy to make for lots of people (in this case, 10 or 11 ppl). The question is how many hard & soft shells should I plan on buying today? I'm getting about 6 lbs of meat (since they're all adults and several are men with big appetites), but I'm just not sure about the shells! Any advice would be great! Thanks! Teri

Wow, That's a hard one as you never know how many people will eat - go over whatever you think as the people will probably go back for seconds, thirds and maybe fourths - we knew people that "thought" they'd overbought for a cook-out and it turned out that they didn't get to eat themselves! Besides, you can always save the shells - they don't spoil, for later times. I have no amount other than a lot? And have fun! Marilyn

I ended up getting 6lb of meat, 48 hard shells (the smaller size) and 30 soft shells. I only got one head of lettuce...hopefully that will be enough...
