| Re: Income tax questions I have a tax question for anyone that can answer. I have a job offer with a company out of Calgary Canada. I will be on contract working here in the US. Are there any different tax implications working this way other than I have to file a 1099 and pay my own taxes? Any risks? Thanks |

I think for someone to help you you need more details, for example, if you were a US resident, and you tax home is the USA then you just calim the income from 1099 as other income, or on SCH C if you have other expenses against it. And you cant claim any foreign tax credit. If you were a non us resident, I mean you are canadian and just working here is the usa, then you have to look at tax treaties between the two. Feel free to PM rather than dicuss here. fore the first example look at PUB 514 from IRS [Only registered and activated users can see links. | Re: Income tax questions I have a question about medical expenses. I spent over $3000.00 in 2006 for an operation that was not performed until 2007. And have made a $11000.00 payment in 2007 for another operation but has not been performed yet. What can I claim as medical expenses? |

| Re: Income tax questions Hey, Mickyphoenix, You out there? You make yourself as some kind of TAXGURU, I've had a question for you for a few days and not even a peep from you. If that's best you can do, have a nice rest of your Corporate Life. I'll get my help from elsewhere. |

| Re: Income tax questions If you calim him as a dependent, then on his form he answers YES to a question that asks if someone else can calim you as a depeneded. If you are useing turbtax, you can run the 2 seniorios, one with him alone and one with him being dependendt on you and see which one is beter for all of you . PM if you have more specific questions.
