Ipod's & Music Download Sites...

I recently bought an Ipod Mp3 Player and am wondering if I am limited to downloading from [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and/or if I am free to download mp3's from any other site. Does the Ipod limit me to only Itunes?

The reason I ask is because [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] is expensive per song. I mean paying over a dollar for a song seems outrageous - specifically considering that I can get the same song for free elsewhere!

I can download the same music for free via any of the various MP3 Search Engines such as [Only registered and activated users can see links. So my question is can I get the music for free or am I stuck paying? I mean what good is the music if I can't play it on my new Ipod
