The truth is Sean Hannity and Oliver North don’t support our troops.

The Freedom Alliance, a non profit military charity started by Federal perjurer Oliver North and promoted heavily by liar Sean Hannity received a grade of “F” by the Philanthropy institute because so little of the money they raise actually goes to families of military wounded and killed for their children's scholarships. Most of the money, a percentage MUCH higher than industry averages, goes to overhead and salaries for the top people in the organization. Ex Col. North pays himself $158,000.00 to run this charity part time.

Sean Hannity hosts “The Freedom Concerts” every year to benefit this organization. Tickets ranged from 38-78 dollars each, and Sean continually boasts on the air about the charity you are supporting by going to one of these concerts. For the kicker, according to tax filings, for each ticket sold, the Freedom Alliance got a mere $4.00. Since the acts performed for free, where did all the money go Mr. Hannity, Mr. North?

From your website

"Freedom Alliance was founded in 1990 by Oliver North, who now serves as the organization's honorary chairman. We work to keep America strong, keep America prosperous, and keep America free. The mission of Freedom Alliance is to advance the American heritage of freedom by honoring and encouraging military service, defending the sovereignty of the United States and promoting a strong national defense."

Where exactly do scholarships to the children of the fallen, the mission most gloated about by Ollie and Sean, fit in this mission statement? It is the derth of direct money for scholarships I am questioning.

The mission statement is a poorly written one. It is vague and doesn't promise or promote real results, scholarships, or some other tangible and recognizable result.

I think you brought up some fair questions to ask. I would like more details as to whether the $158,000 is a accurate number, and some basis as to how this money was earned-hours, etc...I'm sure it will be explained

Statement Regarding Washington Post Report on Public Charities:

"AIP also reduces an organization’s grade when that organization has “large asset reserves” – which is the case for Freedom Alliance. According to AIP, non-profit organizations should not have more than 3 years worth of financial reserves. Freedom Alliance believes that such a requirement would be grossly irresponsible given our commitment to provide college scholarships to the children of fallen servicemen and women. To abide by AIP’s standard would be to tell grade school children that they must attend college in the next three years"

I read that earlier, and fell it is malarkey; the Freedom Alliance predicts there will be no donations to their cause five, 10, or 15 years out? Also, why is the Freedom Alliance holding these funds and not putting them into 529 plans for the children?
