| Bush Set to Pull-Out 60,000 Troops
No doubt a good discussion on who gets the blame, and who gets the credit.. In the End the ultimate control comes down to the republicans since they control the Presidency & Congress...Must be Mid-Term Elections controlling the politicians. Hahahahhahah! I am sure she will equivocate this one too! With the increased frequency of US casualties, perhaps it is time to come up with a different plan. |

You would think that as more Iraqi's are trained that the U.S. could deploy troops to secure the borders etc..although I've heard reports from Time reporters who are stationed with troops that many commanders speaking off the record believe that it is just wishful thinking that the Iraqi's can ever handle the depth of the insurgency-if this is the case then you would have to believe that McCain's proposal to actually increase troop strength is what would be required(I tend to support this)-although I've read articles which stated that this is not feasible without a draft or other serious measures. I believe this article points out some of the concerns....You have conflicting statements such as Rice saying that American forces are not going to be needed in numbers much longer, but U.S. officers saying something else. "Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday the number of U.S. troops "is clearly going to come down" as Iraqi capabilities increase, but she stopped short of saying how many might leave or when they might come home." "I suspect that the American forces are not going to be needed in the numbers that they are there for that much longer," Rice told CNN." [Only registered and activated users can see links. Allies continue to pull more troops out of Iraq..Seems all sides left/right realize that the U.S. will have to bring troop levels down also. Saw sheppard smith on Fox yesterday evening-they did a comparision of levels before, and current in regards to improving conditions..they said many items are worse now then before. If someone could find/provide video(link) I would appreciate. Two U.S. Allies Leaving Iraq, More May Go: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]
