Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

And do you believe she will be good for our country?
Purely opinions desired. I do not do extensive research or even read the long articles people post.

I think she is definitely going to run!

I hope so!

HILLARY '08

Chippers--you know you're one of my FAVORITE online folks but I believe during this topic we will have to agree to disagree. Something tells me that no matter what you won't be casting a vote for Hillary ever.

Re: Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

I suspect we would survive Hilariously......Hillary Clinton, but I just don't see it happening. I may eat my words (as though I have never done that before!lol), but I don't think we will see a woman president in the next twenty years. Just my opinion that is not supported by fact or polls, so take it for what it is worth (or not worth to you.)

I believe there will eventually come a woman who is more of a centrist, who will have bi-partisan support, who will be a unifying president, and who will not elicit knee-jerk reactions from the extreme left or right. Of course, this could be said of any minority male too. For some reason, I think the latter will be more likely than the former. Once again, just my opinion.

Re: Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

Shaina, we will be on-line friends despite this disagreement of ours. LOL

Hillary is a very cold person from what I have seen. She does not have even half the charm of her hubby. She has been running for President for a very long time. I think she just used New York as a step toward her goal, and it stuns me that the people of New York could not see that, and elected her anyway. I think she could win the presidency. There are only about 40% of the population who would not vote for her. That leaves a comfortable percentage that would do so. I also think that the media and the Dems have done such a good job of portraying GB's presidency in a negative light, that the next president will be a democrat, no matter who they nominate, and Hillary is a very likely candidate. 4 years later, we will elect another Republican.
All this is just my opinion, which is what I have asked of all of you as well.

Re: Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

Hillary will probably get elected Senator from NY again next year. From what I've heard, she's a hard worker and has done an excellent job overall.

Sadly, IMO, the Dems don't seem to have anyone else with any personality who could make a legitimate run for the presidency. We need some charisma!! Telos might be right....we'll see a minority male as president first. A lot of people will have trouble voting for a female for president.

Re: Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

Shaina I think you and Telos are right about who would be elected first. I hope it will not take another 20 years like Telos thinks. My dh hopes she runs and will vote for her and he is a Republican. I am the Democrat and will vote for her if she is the one running. And cujo if the county can survive with GWB it can survive with Hillary.

Keep your eyes on Mark Warner...my guess is that the country is sick of the divide between right & left politics, and will look more towards a centrist. Is it possible for the Republican Party to nominate a moderate candidate?

Re: Is Hillary running for Pres. in 2008?

Well, I consider Mark Warner to be the next Robert Kennedy. He didn't do VA any good as governor and am certainly sure he won't make an improvement in the US. His wife was really not well thought of in VA either. I am kind of hoping that someone like Rudy or George Allen run, but really, I wonder how much all that matters anymore. I vote but sometimes wonder if we really have a choice.

How ironic Mr. Bowler---the top story in the Style section of today's Washington Post is about Mark Warner.

Why don't you judge the person based on the performance instead of Saying Robert Kennedy or what his wife was not well thought of...I'll admit that I don't know that much about the man, but here is some stat's.

Do you have a link or can you highlight any information? On the republican side I believe John McCain looks interesting also, but by the time the primaries roll into Illinois it usually is a mute point. I believe Mccain had proposed more troops in Iraq..which on the surface many dem's would object, but if you use these extra troops to secure the borders while Iraq troops that have been trained-could be used internally. This was shot down quickly because politically it doesn't sell well in Suburban America..ie shared sacrifice. After all only 1-2% in general are making a sacrifice...
