I think it is wrong that this was the only way the poor woman could die, via dehydration. Yes, her brain really was gone, and I'm sure she wouldn't have wanted to go on living in this state (would you?), but there should be a better way to do this. As for her husband, the autopsy proves that what he said was correct. And as for the money, there is no money left, after all of her care. Cut the guy some slack!

I was SO on the fence about the whole situation...part of me wanted to smack her husband, but then the other part wanted to smack everyone else. WQ, I SO agree...there SHOULD have been a better way for her to leave this world. I for one can say I would NOT want to go on if my brain wasn't functioning to the capacity of MY normal existence. One thing I do see positive coming out of the whole situation is that Terri sure did make loved ones talk to a more greater length about what THEY would want to happen.

This story has such a special meaning for me. My friend was going in for surgery in April, and because of what was going on with Terri she decided to do a living will. She ended up having a stroke after the surgery, and per her wishes she was disconnected.

I think dehydration is a terrible way to die. This story was so difficult because there was no living will.

So, Dr, Hammesfahr was completely wrong? Well, he wasn't ever nominated for a Nobel Prize, so I guess Sean Hannity, who gave the discredited Dr. lots of positive airtime on his Fox News show, is eating crow, now. Fox News Channel with this news must be enraged!

So, I guess for real news, we should not watch Fox News Channel, or rely on

Why are so many of your posts geared towards bashing Fox News? You do not like the channel, that is understood, but it is not necessary to turn every topic into an attack on the news agency.

A legitimate "News organization" retracts statements when they are proven wrong. Fox News, though repeatedly wrong, never retracts statements or acknowledges its mistakes. Fox News is not a legitimate "news" organization; they are an opinion generator whose opinion many times turns out to be flatly wrong.
