Unbelievable, former President Jimmy Carter, as a continuing embarrassment to our nation, had the gall to eulogize mass-murderer and terrorist, Yassar Arafat, as "a powerful human symbol".

MIAMI (AFP) - Former US President Jimmy Carter called Yasser Arafat “a powerful human symbol and forceful advocate” who united Palestinians in their pursuit of a homeland.

“Yasser Arafat’s death marks the end of an era and will no doubt be painfully felt by Palestinians throughout the Middle East and elsewhere in the world,” Carter said.

“He was the father of the modern Palestinian nationalist movement. A powerful human symbol and forceful advocate, Palestinians united behind him in their pursuit of a homeland,” he said in a statement distributed by his Atlanta, Georgia-based Carter Center.

The guy was a TERRORIST, and his actions are the seed that allowed Osama to take root! Let's take a look at the illustrious career of Arafat, shall we?

I am disgusted by Carter. He needs to move to Cuba and live with Fidel Castro.

My only fear is who will succeed him. At least with Arafat in control, we had an idea of what to expect. The next guy could be so much worse.

Actually, the guy in line seems to be less of a murderous swine. Of course, power can corrupt anyone, so time will tell.

I was disgusted by the white wash coverage of Arafat's death, including the so-called great Fox News. Most media outlets portrayed it as the passing of an elder statesman. Only a few right-wing radio hosts and a few papers like the NY Post told what a thug he was. Even Bush said something stupid like "God bless his soul."
The appropriate graphic that should have been used by news outlets should have been the 9year old girl lying in a pool of blood in the Rome airport, or a dramatization of an elderly wheelchair bound man being pushed off a ship. That was his true legacy.
I guess terrorism works. He even won a Noble Peace Prize. I can imagine history book 200 years from now (assuming the planet even survives that long).
