Boycott Amazon.com! This is shocking! Toys r Us Sued!

Yes the books are there. Toys r Us wants out.

I know I will never buy from them again. How awful to sell these books just for a profit!!! Thanks Mayfly for bringing it to our attention. This is important! I think this site should also not use amazon as any kind of reward also!

It is really scary stuff. Sexual freedom should never extend to men using boys. But it may happen some day. Meanwhile we all need to do whatever we can to prevent it. I will not be buying anything else from Amazon.

Interesting. I'm a little confused though because I did a search for the titles that were mentioned in the petition...and I couldn't find all of them..

I was NOT able to find:
- NAMBLA Bulletin
- Varieties of Man/Boy Love: Modern Western Contexts
- Loving Boys, Anarchist of Love: The Secret Life of John Henry Mackay

I WAS able to find:
- Understanding Loved Boys and Boylovers
- Witchhunt Foiled: The FBI Vs. NAMBLA (Out of Print)

I am also confused. Why would someone go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and then type in "NAMBLA Bulletin."

They say they are available from the Toys R Us website, but actually they are only "available" if you select "Amazon.com" from the drop down menu and then search. (1) Why would someone go to Toys R Us to being their searh? and (2) If I couldn't find some of them, how could they?

I wont be signing the petition and will continue to shop Amazon.com, one of the FEW sites that I can usually find REAL reviews of items and I am considering purchasing!

All toys-r-us has to do is remove the amazon link from their site if they are so concerned that toyshoppers would find such material. As crazytimes said, no one is going to do a NAMBLA search on toys-r-us.

Well the problem is....the Toys R Us is sort of "integrated" with the Amazon.com website. It has the same layout...but I guess all they have to do is remove the Amazon.com option from the search pull-down menu.

I really don't care how Toys R Us handles it. I am upset that Amazon sells such stuff. It is worse than pornography in my book.

Don't you guys get that Toys R US sued Amazon to get away from them? They were denied because they are in a contract. I can't understand how ANYONE can stand to shop at a place that in any shape or form supports pedophiles. Toys r us wanted out because they are a TOY STORE, for kids, innocent, fun. They don't want to be represented by someone who has anything on their site on how to abuse kids, or has things that pedophiles are looking for. Crazytimes, this is a law suit. I am sorry if you could not find "all" of the books. The petition is to allow Toys r us to get free from Amazon.

Well if they are in a contract they shouldn't be allowed to just break free because they discovered this afterwards. Amyways this ISN'T why they wanted to break the contract! It's because Amazon is supposedly selling toys of other companies. All Toys R Us has to do is show evidence of this, I don't see what's so hard about it. Anyways why should a petition mean anything? This is a LEGAL issue. Not a "here are 10,000 signatures, let Toys R Us break their contract."

The problem I have with this petition is that they turned it into a pedophile books issue, when the sense that I got was that Toys R Us is suing Amazon because Amazon has not been fulfilling their part of the deal, NOT because Amazon offers 2 pedo-books.

Edited: I just wanted to add that obviously if Amazon.com had a section full of pedophile books of COURSE I would boycott them. But the fact is they have 2 books out of MILLIONS and I'm sure they have LOTS of items that aren't explicitly "NAMBLA" books or "pedophile books" but have pretty graphic/racy/explicit material in them.

Exactly. Are we all supposed to ban our local drugstore for selling XXX mags from under the counter? How about the local video rental store?

How could you even say that xxx rated magazines are on the same level as pedophile books? These books are for men who have sex with young boys but you still want to purchase books from them because you like their reviews? are you nuts???I know I wont let one more cent go to a company that sells books about these books! Plus there are drug stores that dont carry x rated magazines that you can choice to go to like eckerds. Dont you think two books is two too many books that amazon should be selling? These are innocent children and grown adults like you wont inconvenience themselves because they like their reviews! REALLY SICK!!!!

I think the people that should be gone after are those that actually produce and publish these types of books.

Oh for crying out loud. Have you read the books?I have yet to see a book that says "How to Molest Children." For all you know someone could order that book for research or simply to look at some of the rationalizations these sickos make.

Odds are you wouldn't have ever known or run across these books at Amazon. Why? Because it's not as if they feature these 2 books (one of which is out of print) nor do they have a special section for them!

The way people say "profiting" make it sounds like Amazon is making millions from this book. Trust me, they're not. It's almost # 400,000 on their top book sales. I am positive Amazon sells books that are MUCH more explicity (and probably have photographs) than this book!

This is just some ultra-conservative witch hunt and apparently most of you have fallen for it. They have found a way to twist Toys R Us legal battle into a way to get people to boycott Amazon and I'm not falling for it. And then anyone who DOESN'T boycott Amazon is made to look like someone who supports pedophiles. Give me a break. .

In this court case all the books were there. Whether or not you can find them is not the issue.

These books are not about what consenting adults are doing to earn a porno rating. These books teach men how to get into contact with boys. I can totally understand why Toys R Us would want to pull itself off of Amazons site.

So can I, but I'm not going to boycott amazon. Do you really think that would have any effect on pediphiles? Amazon is NOT the problem here!
