Thank you Nebraska!

As of now it looks like Amendment 3 and Initiatives 417-420, which were on the ballot in Nebraska, were STRUCK DOWN! They had different plans...but each would have allowing casino gambling in the state! I can't tell you how proud I am of the people in this state.

The intiatives 417-420 were the idea of LAS VEGAS CASINOS, so obviously they had an unlimited budget...and these past few weeks we have been POUNDED, quite literally, with advertisements promoting these initiatves.

CasiNO.

Did anyone else have issues that were on the ballot in your state that you felt passionately about?

Edited to Add: Well I guess not all of the votes are in, but so far it looks like the proposals are NOT winning!

Re: Thank you Nebraska!

I think the marriage definition thing is winning in most states in which it is at play. It won here in GA.

Yeah they said that in most of the states that had in on the ballot it was winning. Ohio went far enough to ban even civil unions...not sure how that is doing though.

No strong issues to vote on in North Carolina. But Easley was re-elected by a landslide and he plans to attempt to get a lottery for the state sometime during this term. We have a strong Southern Babtist core in this state that has voted it down so far. I am not Southern Babtist or any kind of Babtist but I agree the lottery is a bad thing. It is a tax on poor people, who cannot resist entering with dollars they should spend on food and shelter, IMO.

Re: Thank you Nebraska!

Nothing big here in MN. Just the regular school funding issue. I voted yes on all of it. I don't mind a property tax increase to improve our schools.

Well I think the lottery is a bad thing to but it passed overwhelmingly here in OK. Also the one man one woman passed by a huge margin and I am gald of that.
