From a researcher who has been a policeman for a VERY long time:

This picture is not related to a mic or a communication device at all.



This is a poorly concealed kevlar bullet resistant vest. I see them every day and it's unmistakable. Without the jacket it looks like this:




This photo gives away the fact that Bush is also wearing ballistic impact plates in his vest:



Impact plates are light metal or ceramic plates that fit into pockets in the front at back of the vest for added protection. Outside the pockets, the plates look like this:




The images shown here depict the outline of the vest so obviously that one would have to be in total denial to not see it.

I don't think that is it at all, whitequeen. Mainstream media outlets are typically reluctant to focus on anything that does not serve to detract from Bush's image, persona, etc.

Poor guy is d*mned if he does, d*mned if he doesn't. Why should he announce if he is wearing bullet proof vests? To give people who hate him the satisfaction of knowing he fears for his life? I think he is brave, and would rather have people speculate what they want rather than give anyone that satisfaction. People who support him don't care, and people who don't support him are going to feel negative towards him no matter what was under his shirt. They made fun of him when they though it was a mike, made fun of him when they thought it was a poorly made suit, and now they will speculate reasons why he kept the vest quiet. I wish I knew how to spell ce la vie! lol

Why doesn't he just ever say the TRUTH!! I would much rather hear that he had a bulletproof vest on than hear that that mysterious lump was from " a poorly tailored shirt."
