| This report is for the record.... Did anyone else notice the telling ending tidbit in last Friday's White House pool report:
Andrews to Wilkes-Barre
McClellan gaggled and later made a followup comment that I don't think will be in the transcript. After the gaggle, he reported that Bush signed H.R. 4520, the "American Jobs Creation Act of 2004," this morning to bring U.S. corporate tax laws into compliance with WTO requirements.
"This legislation will end the European sanctions on American exports, and it will help promote the competitiveness of American manufacturers and other job creators, and help create jobs here in America,'' McClellan said in Wilkes-Barre.
During the gaggle, McClellan previewed Bush's speech and attempted to knock down today's Wash Post story on the diversion of resources from Afghanistan to Iraq.
Flight and motorcade uneventful. Bush was accompanied on AF1 by his daughter Barbara, in tight jeans, and by Dan Bartlett and Karl Rove, who were not wearing tight jeans.

Well, thank God for Karl and Dan's comfortable pant choice! It will also be interesting to see in Ron's next pool report if either of the daughter's wardrobe choices are critically included, if given the opportunity. Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree, and "Hutch" is really just bucking for the fashion editor's job at the Miami Herald. |
