| Marines Talk about Iraq
Hmmm...this must be only the bad news coming out. Any way to quiet this up like the independent contractor reports Tell me who do you believe First off a disclaimer: "The views of the mortar platoon of some 50 young Marines, several of whom fought during the first phase of the war last year, are not necessarily reflective of all or even most U.S troops fighting in Iraq." "Every day you read the articles in the States where it's like, 'Oh, it's getting better and better,' " said Lance Cpl. Jonathan Snyder, 22, of Gettysburg, Pa. "But when you're here, you know it's worse every day." "Pfc. Kyle Maio, 19, of Bucks County, Pa., said he thought government officials were reticent to speak candidly because of the upcoming U.S. elections. "Stuff's going on here but they won't flat-out say it," he said. "They can't get into it." "The reality right now is that the most dangerous opinion in the world is the opinion of a U.S. serviceman," said Lance Cpl. Devin Kelly, 20, of Fairbanks, Alaska. Lance Cpl. Alexander Jones, 20, of Ball Ground, Ga., agreed: "We're basically proving out that the government is wrong," he said. "We're catching them in a lie."

Register Now] "The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) said this week that it will restrict distribution of reports by contractor Kroll Security International" "Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's office has sent commanders of U.S. military facilities a five-page memorandum titled "Guidance to Commanders." The Pentagon, the memo says, is sponsoring a group of Iraqi Americans and former officials from the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) to speak at bases starting tomorrow to provide "a first-hand account" of events in Iraq. The Iraqi Americans "feel strongly that the benefits of the coalition efforts have not been fully reported," the memo says. The memo says the presentations are "designed to be uplifting accounts with good news messages." Rumsfeld's office recommends that the installations seek news coverage, noting "these events and presentations are positive public relations opportunities."

It saddens me that the very thing these men and women are fighting to bring to others(freedom)is being violated. Their facts on this war should be heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
