Rolling eyes Oprah's Jury Duty

Does this bother anyone else?

She isn't an "average" citizen. She has a huge amount of clout and power. Now she is going to do a multi-segment show on her "jury duty" experience (like we didn't see THAT coming )
I'm sure no one else on the jury would dare disagree with her during deliberations just so they could get on her show. Plus the fact that she had her own personal assistant that fetched a "breadless turkey sandwich" for her while the rest of the jurors had whatever the court provided.

The whole thing is disgusting.

Seriously. I wonder who the head juror was.

Isn't it supposed to be a jury of your peers? I think she might qualify to be on the Martha Stewart jury, but not your average everyday murder suspect.

Re: Oprah's Jury Duty

I think they chose her so they could use it in the appeal to get a mis-trial or something. It just seems odd and I don't agree with it either.

If she had shown up without make up and hair done, she might not have been recognized. hehe

Re: Oprah's Jury Duty

Fact of the matter is though, that despite her fame, Oprah is a peer. I saw nothing wrong with her participating on that jury. It is apparent that the prosecution and defense teams of the case in which she sat saw nothing wrong with her serving as well.

Re: Oprah's Jury Duty

Doesn't seem fair at all. If I were on that with her, I'd have kept my mouth shut at all times and just went with her opinion!! Cata I agree with you though...no makeup, no fancy clothes and hair undone....= no Oprah!!
