Kerry flip flops on Iraq! What is a liberal to do?

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. (Reuters) - Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry said on Monday he would have voted for the congressional resolution authorizing force against Iraq even if he had known then no weapons of mass destruction would be found.

This is a hoot... for MONTHS, liberals have been chanting about how we shouldn't have gone into Iraq and that Bush "lied" about weapons of mass destruction.

Now Kerry comes out and says he would have done the same thing.

How y'all gonna pull that level for Mr. Kerry now?

I know, you could vote for him before you decided you weren't going to vote for him before you know you were going to vote for him.

Nothing like a man of conviction to steel your confidence in his ability to handle the presidency...

He voted to AUTHORIZE the ability of the POTUS to use force against Iraq. He didn't authorize the POTUS to abuse that power which is exactly what GWB did.

As I have said before and will say again, if Kerry becomes POTUS, I imagine his term will be among the most unremarkable in US history. Just watch Queen Hitlary knock him out in '08.

So Kerry wanted the President to be able to go to war if the President decided to go to war.

The President decided to go to war, which is what Kerry authorized him to do.

Was the backing of the U.N. required? If it was, I didn't know that. I don't follow this as much as lot of people apparently.

UN backing wasn't required, but suggested. At the time there was no UN Security Council Resolution 1441, and Saddam wasn't allowing inspectors into the country. All of which changed, therefore see Section 3, subsection (b) of the Joint Resolution.

Last time I heard we were a sovereign nation and didn't need the permission of socialist nations to go about our business. Meanwhile, we have liberated a nation, captured a modern-day Hitler, and overseen a democratic government become installed in an extremely short period of time. Have we suffered losses? Absolutely. Freedom has a price. Those brave men and women were willing to pay it and it shall not be forgotten. Not by those of us back home. And not by the uncounted numbers of Iraqis who no longer suffer under the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein.

I heard on the news today that the Iraquis had a wonderful soccer game, winning. They were saying how Saddam's sons were especially sadistic to the athletes of Iraq. It was wonderful to see fireworks over Iraq, free to celebrate their win.
