This is so silly, just had to share this laugh.

I just love this part:

Maybe it was jet lag, or maybe summit-fatigue.

Bush on Saturday twice had trouble figuring out what day it was.

At a news conference following the U.S.-European Union (news - web sites) summit, Bush first said he was traveling on to Turkey on Sunday to meet with leaders of NATO (news - web sites) nations.

"Tomorrow I will travel to Turkey for the NATO summit," he said. "Actually, today I will travel to Turkey. Tomorrow is the NATO summit."

Later, he repeated his blunder — still not getting the schedule right.

"As I said tomorrow I'm going to go to Turkey for the NATO summit," he said. "Today I'm going to Turkey. Tomorrow's the summit."

If it's Saturday, Mr. President, it must be Ireland (during the day) and Turkey (at night).

At the end Bush used the mix-up to his advantage.

"No," he told a reporter trying to squeeze in one more question. "We've got to go to Turkey."

Interrupt President Bush one too many times and he won't let you talk to his wife.

The White House canceled Radio and Television Ireland's scheduled interview of First Lady Laura Bush during her short stay here for the U.S.-European Union summit, the president's spokesman Scott McClellan said Saturday.

He didn't say why, but the reason for the decision was clear: The White House didn't like the news organization's interview with the president at the White House last Thursday.

During the interview, Bush became exasperated with his questioner, who seemed intent on controlling the discussion.

I like how the president can't be human without it looking like some big news story.

OMG the president is naked under his clothes??

OMG the president gets a schedule screwed up??? (You travel constantly and let me know if you remember where you're going or where you've been)

I was laughing about the schedule thing, because it's happened to me so many times. I can relate! I wasn't laughing AT him. I got a kick out of it. I agree with you, Shainie!

I saw this 'story' and found it rather chivalrous of the President to look after his wife's interest. I don't know why he agrees to interviews at all the way folks blast him all the time.
I'd tell everyone what Cheney told the Democrat the other day, if it was up to me.

I agree with you that it's fine for a Man to look after his wife's interest's, but you also have to realize that when you are involved in Politic's that people are going to call into question your policies & action's. The american people need some form of a system of checks/balances.
You have to accept the good with the bad..instead of the norm nowadays of selecting what news you want to be presented to the american public. Give the President's wife some credit-I'm sure she can handle herself..she doesn't need to be afraid or hide from a interview that may or may not agree with the President or Her views on a particular topic.

Oh I give the lady LOTS of credit; she has more class in her little finger than Hillary had in her whole body. I am sure she doesn't need to hide. There is a big difference though between an honest debate about issues and a vicious attack born out of half-truths.
I don't think the latter type of interview is worthy of the President's time (or his wife's for that matter).

I was referring to the Press. The press performs a valuable duty as a system of checks & balances. Yes I'm aware of the Government system of checks & balances.

In your Mind that may be the case. Let everyone decide for themselves whether they are half-truth's or not. That's one of the reason's the men & women are fighting/dying for the United States. Like I said you take the Good with the Bad..to simply only do interviews that you feel will only show you in a favorable light. JMHO

Heck, that would be kind of impossible in this country where the favorite national pastime is to blast Bush.
