Re: some numbers

I was hoping someone would come up with the stats on what the funds spent on this war would have bought if they were spent on our own people. I think about that all the time. Where did you find this info, Auryn?

Re: some numbers

The numbers came from the DoD's web site (no, not us, the other one ) at pentagon.gov There is no one page that I can link to. You would have to look one by one.

Re: some numbers

Oh, I can't take credit for it. A friend of mine gave it to me, and I only double-checked the numbers on the web site. But even so I felt it was my patriotic duty to post it here!

Could you point me to the page on the DoD site where you found these statistics?

I'm having a hard time finding these over there. I figured since you already double checked them you could find it really quick. Thanks!

I went to the search page and I searched for each one.

But the things you highlighted could be found almost anywhere. All you need to do is simple math to figure out how many elementray school teachers you could hire with that amount of money.

Ok. I must be missing something then. This search thing is new to me.

I went to the [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and punched in the following:

Percentage of soldiers who said they would not re-enlist: 50

It didn't pull up any page that showed that. Am I not looking in the right place?

Yes, that is the specific one I was wanting to find, too.
I know several military people and I have heard NONE of them express this sentiment; I find it a rather unbelievable statement.

You are typing in far far FAR too many words for one thing. This did not come from a single web page. It took me 2 weeks to find these.

You must know a lot of the brainwashed ones. All of the military people I know except one would not re-enlist. I'm talking like 45 people.

Re: some numbers

Re-enlistment numbers sound like the results of the Oct. 2003 [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]. It was actually 49% "Not Likely" and "Very Unlikely" to re-enlist, back then

Searching for retention and military yields better results than "re-enlistment".

Fair enough. I'd just like to know where that one statistic is though. If you found it on the DoD site once, I figured you'd be able to find it again.

Did you find this stat on the DoD site or somewhere else?

By your statement earlier:

You made it sound like they all came from the Pentagon website.
