I wonder why a condo community (talking about property owners here) would allow such a silly rule to apply.

Re: This is Just Insane

These people must REALLY need a life if all they have to do is harass an elderly woman and her dog.

It says that 10 years ago they voted that no pets were allowed. They must have had a reason to get the majority of owners to vote that way. She snuck the dog in 5 years ago because she knew that she was not supose to have a pet. She is the one in the wrong not the person trying to enforce the rule.

Yep, that is what prompted my initial question. I just don't understand why people deny for themselves such basic things (such as pet ownership).

If you don't like something, fight to change it before breaking the rules! If you live in a no-pets residence and you want a pet, either ask for a change or move! People who think that rules don't apply to them really burn me up. It doesn't matter if a rule is stupid or outdated, work to change it if you don't like it.

This woman should either find the dog a new home or find herself one that will accept pets. PLAIN AND SIMPLE!

Yep, people should try to work through the system in order to implement change. On the other hand though, may not be too easy for an 85-year-old woman to just pick up and move or get rid of her dog. It's just too bad she moved there in the first place.

In fact, anyone with the sense the Lord gave a gopher shouldn't buy into a place with such a stupid rule, IMHO.

The articale said that she'd been there for 20 years, and the rule was passed a decade ago, so she did not move into a no-pets complex, it turned into one on her.

Exerpt from article:
Quote:
Bernadette Casale has shared her Delray Beach condo with her pocket chihuahua, Cha Cha, for five years and vows to stay put.
It is apparent that she did not have the dog before the no-pet policy was enacted.
