"Under God" kept in Pledge of Allegiance

What do you guys think of this. I am jumping for joy! I think this sentence of the article sums it up nicely for me.

"The reference is an "official acknowledgment of our nation's religious heritage," similar to the "In God We Trust" stamped on coins and bills, Solicitor General Theodore Olson argued to the court."

I am delighted with the ruling. The guy gets on my last nerve because he used his daughter as a pawn in his own glorification.
She had no problem with saying the pledge, the mother had no problem with it... he just took it upon himself to make his daughter an example.
This sentence floored me:

On what basis I wonder?

Does he not realize how stupid this makes him sound?

Re: "Under God" kept in Pledge of Allegiance

All this time wasted, all this money spent, over two little words. Geesh! If you don't want to say them, then don't. If you don't want to hear them, then leave the room. I can't believe some of the crap that people devote so much time and money to.

In an offbeat thought, I wonder who started students saying the Pledge of Allegience in school and why? I better do some googling.....lol
