So why don't we charge him with something? Are we allowed to turn him over as a prisoner to the new Iraqi government? I don't understand why we'd have to just release prisoners after an occupation, instead of just relinquishing custody to the new government. Wouldn't it be a pretty bad idea to turn loose the leaders and soldiers from the old government, and let them have the ability to use old connections and such to undermine the new fledgling government?

I think so. What would seem appropriate to me would be to try Hussein in an Iraqi court of law. At any rate, this is no place for the International Red Cross to stick its nose.
