Baffled Liberal Lunacy

There's an article in the NY Times today talking about John Kerry and his ski vacation in Sun Valley, ID. Watch out for that tree, John!

Anyway, the article is uninteresting, with the exception of a quote that appeared at the end of the article...

Quote:
Idaho, to be sure, is very much a red state, but Ketchum is actually a dot of deep Democratic blue on the political map. Many stop signs here have "Bush 2004" spray-painted underneath, and the rebellious teenagers tend to be "hard-core vegans," said Barrett Cincotta, 13.

"Everyone in this town is anti-Bush," Barrett, a Junior Olympic skier, said between runs. "He's trying to destroy our planet."
This kid is 13 years old and really believes that "George Bush is trying to destroy the planet"?!?!

"Hello, I am George W. Bush, an I am going to wipe out planet Earth. Mwhahahahahaha!"

Someone get this child an education. Or parents that won't fill her skull full of mush with garbage.

Mayor

Re: Liberal Lunacy

Have the rules changed, again? Taxman didn't want us making statements like that(too open for debate and you have no facts to back it up), or don't you have to go by the rules?

What are you referring to? The quote was taken directly from the article. It really speaks for itself, doesn't it?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize the garbage above was in the article, I thought you were just being nasty!

Re: Liberal Lunacy

I'm just commenting on the statement in the article. The kid IS 13 years old. The kid DOES believe George Bush is trying to destroy the planet. The last line is obviously my opinion. I assumed you would be able to discern that.

Re: Liberal Lunacy

I'm just saying that we were not allowed to post those kinds of things recently, we had to back up our opinion with fact.
YOU may think its mush, but I don't know if you are concerned or knowledgeable about environmental issues to know what Bush has done or not done in that regard.

I could give you a list but I know that you like to get the information for yourself.

I just needed Taxman to verify the rules for me, they seem to change frequently!

Aw shucks, Mayor! The libs finally caught on... You know how dastardly we neocons are.

Every last one of you that has complained about this thread has done far worse (and more often) than Mayor has done. What makes any of you think that I should take your complaints seriously? Drop the whole rightus indignation act and worry more about keeping your own posts in line.

Re: Liberal Lunacy

The girl said, and I quote,

"He (George W. Bush) is trying to destroy the planet"

Whether you agree with Bush's environmental policies or not, do YOU believe that the President of the United States is deliberately and maliciously attempting to sabotage the planet that we call home?

If the answer is yes, the defense rests and the title of the thread is proven.

If the answer is no, quitcherbellyakin. ;-)

Re: Liberal Lunacy

I object to having to back up my opinion with fact.
I am really serious.
I am entitled to my opinion, whether or not I am willing to research the subject on which I have an opinion. Some of my opinions come simply from my 53 years of life experiences.

Thanks for saying that, chippers. I agree that NONE of us should have to back our opinions up with facts. BUT, lately, there are outside opinion links being posted that we were told by taxman were not allowed. In fact, I got banned for two weeks for posting an outside opinion link. Just doesn't seem fair, ya know?

No. It does not seem fair. I know you and I do not agree on much, but for me it is not important. I respect your opinion, even if you are wrong.......LOL
I rarely read the long-winded references some folks are so fond of. I would really rather get your persepective than have you give me all the "so-called" supporting evidence. I am of the opinion that most of this stuff is biased. Consider the source and you can predict what will be said.

Re: Liberal Lunacy

but, if one is merely posting a link, and not posting an opinion, shouldn't the link be a credible news source?

Re: Liberal Lunacy

it is the typical liberal/conformist teenagers around here (the East coast). They are the worst, they watch mtv and have the worst taste in music.
Their liberal/conformist baby boomer parents set no boundaries and spoiled them, now they are running around like idiots spraying stop signs.
Hopefully, the wander into the more conservative parts of Idaho and get their butts kicked
