IBTL

It's amazing how you can twist and turn things around to suit your own agenda. If these are things Republicans believe, then I don't know a single one. However, since there isn't a shred of fact on this page, I'm sure it will be gone soon.

LOL at #6!!

6. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

Reminds me of a pic I once saw in the paper. It was a angry guy holding a sign at a gay rights rally. The sign said "God hates F-gs". That just made me laugh.

Re: Who Will Like This

My fear is that many liberals actually believe nonsense. While there are wackos out there with signs that say "God hates fags", there are also extremely fringe wacko liberals. Neither represent the mainstream of their ideology. However, I think mainstream liberals attempt to label mainstream conservatives with this nonsense.

It's funny in a twisted way. But thats mainstream liberalism for ya. ;-)

LOL, my sentiments in a nutshell... the crazy thing is, when I first started reading that I was actually preparing a response point by point in my head.

Luckily I came to my senses and realized it wasn't worth responding to in such detail

I liked it too (hi, whitequeen!). I find it interesting that the religious right can just discount everything on that list.

I liked it myself. It seems like everyday we hear at least rumors of more deception.

Re: Who Will Like This

The problem is that they are all trite cliched one-liners based on no more than a grain of truth with a heap of distortion or outright lies. Any one of them could be shred to pieces in the course of examining facts. I read these statements and am reminded of a child speaking the words, "I know you are but what am I". It sounds like a snappy comeback to a child, but I am left grinning at the cute little fella, not taking him seriously.

Immature and unreasonable are no way to deal with the serious issues facing America.

I'm not religious and I'm more centered than right and I can easily discount almost all of those.

For example, the one about Jesus hating homosexuals? You don't believe that do you? Most of the others are clearly exaggerated slants on slighty true stories.

Luv, I give you more credit than to just blindly agree with everything on that list.

Re: Who Will Like This

Very Funny, and true. I didn't see any twisted facts.
According to my understanding of current events over the last few years, all of these things DID HAPPEN. ALL TRUE. (If they aren't let us know.)

THIS IS MY FAVORITE:
15. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.
THEY NEED TO ADD: A predident lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense AND THE REPUBLICAN SENATE CAN SPEND $4 BILLION OF THE TAXPAYERS' MONEY INVESTIGATING IT. $4 BILLION.

Conservatives HATE IT when you point out their hypocrasy and they have no agruement since it's all true. So they stamp their foot say your're a poo-poo head and annouce they aren't going to play and run away.

Yes, health care IS an important issue, we all agree. So help do something about it insead of just saying it's important and then walking away. You don't get the points for saying health care is important if you only say it for public image and then walk away and watch people suffer.

When I see something printed that isn't true, I identify the misinformation and correct the info. Just saying it's false and saying nothing more shows it's really true and you just can't think up a sound arguement. Prove it's false. Put your money where your mouth is.

Rockabillie, the thing is... this stuff is not 'provable' to begin with; so how do I go prove it false?

For instance,
"11. HMOs and insurance companies have the interest of the public
at heart."

Give me a break! This is garbage. Tell me ONE person who thinks HMO's and insurance companies are a good thing?!

That is what I am talking about- this is a joke, not something designed to promote honest discourse.
