Martha Stewart - Jailbound?

What do you all think of her conviction?

I feel bad. She doesn't deserve to go to jail. This is what is wrong with this country (one of the things, anyway.) Is she a threat to society?

I'm no fan of hers, but she didn't do enough for jailtime.

Re: Martha Stewart - Jailbound?

I feel she is just a scape-goat. A way to warn others not to do what she did. She was not convicted of anything most of us do not do, in some context, all the time. Travesty in my mind.

Re: Martha Stewart - Jailbound?

I agree.

I find it ridiculous that someone can kill someone as a result of drunk driving and get 30 days in jail, whereas Martha is facing, most experts say, at least 1 year.

A drunk driver is a bigger threat to me than Martha ever will be.

I just think what it comes down to is that they wanted to make an example out of someone. While I am completely against coorporate crime, I think they chose the wrong person to go after. Maybe try going after Kenneth Lay...

I totally agree... this seems like overkill to me.
Actually I am something of a fan though; I admire what she was able to accomplish as far as creating her own business.
Also, I think she brought 'women's work' to a level that made it honorable instead of burdensome.

Wow! My mom LOVES her show, especially the recipes she does. Her show is still on here because it's show on the Fox affiliate.
