How Things are going in Iraq

Another email I have rec'd several times...

It is very interesting and according to Snopes:

This item appears to have originated with a Coalition Provisional Authority briefing given by L. Paul Bremer, the U.S. Presidential Envoy to Iraq (the highest-ranking U.S. civilian official in Iraq) on 9 October 2003. Some of the accomplishments cited in this piece were echoed in an 8 December 2003 Forbes magazine article by Caspar W. Weinberger, who served as Secretary of Defense during the Reagan administration.

An Iraqi citizen whose response to this piece was published on the Voices in the Wilderness web site maintains that some of the information presented is true, but much of it is inaccurate or misleading.

Of course I would love to know which is true and which is considered misleading by the Iraqi citizen

Um, not to be picky, but by following the links through you find that this Iraqi citizen is no other than Ahmed Kharrufa, who was sponsored by Cathy Breen, who is a major contributor to "The Nonviolent Activist - The Magazine of the War Resistors League". Not exactly unbiased... (Not that Coalition news briefs are either)

sorry, but I've got to tell everyone it's a waste of time to read his response article.

His responses were all about the negative...and when he couldn't say anything negative (because the statement was 100% true) he asked dumb questions...one of the things was about giving the Iraqi's back their basic human rights...something that I would be grateful for. Is he? Uh, no! his response: "are we supposed to be grateful for our basic human rights?" It sounds to me like the coalition should be going after him - he would fit right in with Saddam.

Regardless of whether all the positive stuff is happening, his response article is a waste of time.
