Kerry & the Intern!!!

There's breaking news that John Kerry had an affair with an intern at AP. What a wild ride this primary season has been, huh?

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

That must be some kind of Democratic initiation. You can't be a Democrat unless you have an affair with an intern.

The really sad part is that even if it's true, it won't matter to a great number of people in this country. The "new (im)-morality" that took hold when the Clinton/Monica thing was going on left me with the notion that affairs of the flesh are "no biggie" anymore. Even if Kerry comes forward and admits it, I don't think it's going to hurt his chances one bit. (Though the rumor is that Dean learned of it earlier and that's why he changed his mind about dropping his bid if he doesn't win Wisconsin....)

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

So according to Drudge, Wesley Clark was predicting the Kerry campaign would "implode" over this... So why'd he drop out? And why is he going to be endorsing Kerry???

Well, if you want to share, sure!

I'm amazed that people such as Rush Limbaugh jumped on this story before it was even validated. Now they have mud on their faces

Says who? Right now, it's a "he said, she said" situation, and given the last go 'round we had with a spotlight Democrat and this kind of nonsense, what "she said" proved to be the truth... methinks one should wait before proposing mud facials...

Where have you heard this story besides on the drudge report? Did you hear it on the national news tonight? And did you not notice that Clark endorsed Kerry today... kinda of a strange thing for him to do if he's waiting for an intern story to implode.

That's what I love about Drudge.... he always gets the good stuff before anyone else! Hannity and Rush both had it on their radio programs, btw, as did Imus, wherein Kerry made his flat denial. It's gonna be interesting watching this one unfold...

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

Seems nobody's got anymore on the story than it appearing on the Drudge Report. Drudge isn't citing the AP reporter/intern as anybody's source. It's a friend of her's, and (big maybe.../maybe not) Wesley Clarke. So neither of two people that would have actually been there have said it happened. Elsewhere there reports that her parents don't have much love for Senator Kerry but they don't see any reason to think their daughter slept with the man. So why is a 24 year old woman's friend a better source than her parents???

This story's nothing more than "gossip", and while I'm not surprised Fox News and talk radio have picked up on it, I would hope for better from God-loving Christians, who should be familiar God's word, for example Proverbs 18:8, Leviticus 19:16, Romans 14:19, and Philip 2:3.

Specifically on the "story"... [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

Specifically on The Drudge Report... [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

How is he any less an "opinion piece" than, let's say..., any other "opinion piece". How's he more newsworthy than Limbaugh, who was exposed in the National Enquirer...???

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

I have a feeling this is nothing more than Drudge trying to get a jump on a story in order to recapture his 15 minutes of fame he recieved by breaking the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal.

There is no evidence the pair had an affair, but her father Terry, 56, said: “I think he’s a sleazeball. I did kind of wonder if my daughter didn’t get that kind of feeling herself.

“He’s not the sort of guy I would choose to be with my daughter.”

Terry, of Malvern, Pennsylvania, added: “John Kerry called my daughter and invited her down to Washington two or three years ago.

“He invited her to be on his re-election committee. She talked to him and decided against it.”[/b]

Quote:
The Sun quoted Ms Polier's parents , Terry and Donna, from Malvern, Pennsylvania, as claiming Mr Kerry had pursued their daughter.

"I think he's a sleazeball. I did wonder if she didn't get that feeling herself," said Mr Polier. "He's not the sort of guy I'd choose to be with my daughter. John Kerry called my daughter and invited her to be on his re-election committee. She talked to him and decided against it." Mr Polier's comments did not appear to fit exactly with the allegations made by Mr Drudge who claimed Mr Kerry and the young woman had a two-year relationship, beginning in the spring of 2001. The Kerry campaign has refused to discuss the allegations and the Poliers were yesterday unavailable for comment.
So basically, it's not even a "he said, she said" thing. He's saying it didn't happen and she's not saying anything. Some papers saying she is 24 and some saying she is 27. And she wasn't even an intern of Kerry's, she was a journalist for AP....too many loopholes to believe any of it is true just yet.

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

Well, I suppose the woman in question could "put it to bed" (so to speak), but she's not talking, is she? Fled the country and won't discuss the issue... hmmmmmm...

(And it wouldn't be the first time a daughter was doing something her parents didn't know about!)

Re: Kerry & the Intern!!!

I haven't heard a thing about this story at all.

I know Kerry's wife was married before of course but does anyone know his marital status before he married Teresa? Does he have any children?
