WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is poking fun at the probe into whether he bought painkillers illegally.

Florida investigators recently obtained warrants for Limbaugh's medical records from a number of doctors, which his attorney calls a move driven by politics.

It is still unlawful to use illegal drugs and commit fraud, right, no matter who you are? What is Limbaugh above the law now? He better get another attorney and quick because the one he has now has no idea how the justice system works...lol
Investigators who raided the doctors' offices said in search warrants the conservative radio commentator engaged in illegal drug use.

During Friday's national broadcast, Limbaugh compared the warrants to calls for Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean to release political records from his years as Vermont governor.

The warrants list prescriptions for more than 2,000 pills from March 24 through Sept. 26 from four doctors. The medications include the powerful painkiller Oxycontin.

According to the warrants, Limbaugh also received prescriptions for the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and another drug used to treat high blood pressure.

The warrants specifically accuse Limbaugh of alternating doctors so he could obtain overlapping prescriptions -- and failing to tell each doctor he was seeing others.

The warrants show investigators were looking for medical, insurance and appointment records for Limbaugh, as well as cash receipts and prescription forms, when they raided two offices Nov. 25.

No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.

Limbaugh denied any wrongdoing to listeners on his radio show Thursday and accused prosecutors in Palm Beach County of going on a "fishing expedition."

The radio talker was absent from his show for five weeks recently while spending time at a drug rehabilitation program because of his addiction to prescription painkillers.
