I was a freaking train wreck!!! They were killing me with going back and forth between Kelly's mom and Kelly....Kelly's mom and Kelly.....every time I'd start to compose myself again, they'd show one of the two of them, and I'd lose it all over again!! AWESOME AWESOME show, especially for both of the finalists!! I'm VERY happy that Kelly won - I think she will do quite well....I know I'll be buying her cd!!! Hooray America for getting it right!!!!

Great ending for a show that's kept me entertained for months! Kelly seems so genuine and just plain nice. I hope this launches a long, rewarding career for her. It'll be interesting to see if any of the others do well.

Kelly will be performing the National Anthem during a September 11 observance in Washington, DC. There's a rather negative article about this at the Washington Post website, written before she won. However, I think that her vocal range is perfect to sing our rather difficult Anthem and it should be a very moving performance.

I didn't see the article, but I can't imagine anyone taking issue with this! She's an amazing talent and as down-home American as they get! Perfect, IMHO, for the job!

I didn't follow the show as many of you did, but was able to watch the last couple of weeks...the most important part...lol I loved the clips and can't believe what many of these people looked like at the start. I mean, they were normal teenagers. As time passed they really changed their looks and I thought Kelly was stunning at the end. Of course, the top 10 were all very talented and the show last night proved that. It was very entertaining! Well, like I said, I didn't watch the whole thing and don't know all the things that happened along the way, but besides Kelly and Justin I really liked Nikki!! I had the impression that she was not well liked. Maybe I got that impression because Simon was so mean to her?

I loved it when Kelly started to squeal (so not to cry I guess) when she sang her song after winning. I liked that she was not "too cool" to show her true feelings/excitement. The song was just amazing,too.

There seemed to be fewer ego issues than in the Making the band series.

OHMIGOSH!! Did anyone else see the Today Show this morning with Kelly and Justin??? Kelly had the Freudian slip of the century!!! Someone asked them if there was any truth to the rumor that they are a couple, and Kelly said, "No. We're just really good friends. There isn't anything between us yet!" As soon as she said "yet" her mouth dropped open wide, her eyes got really big and she squeaked, "I can't believe I just said that!!!!" Justin was cracking up. It was hilarious. I almost fell off the couch from laughing so hard. I think it's wonderful that they were the top two. They are truly sweet human beings with an amazing amount of talent between them!!!

I missed the Today Show, but Kelly was on the Regis show today, and Justin is going to be on there on Monday.
