That stunk

Very disappointed with the season finale. The fact that Pappy had to pick and they made him pick last really blew the whole episode for me. SO UNFAIR.. After they said he passed out dh said "He just realized he was screwed out of the million that's probably what did it to him" I didn't care for either Vee (all that racism crap did it) and Neleh. I couldn't believe that Vee completely turned on Kathy. I really wanted her to win.

surprised

I am kinda surprised that v won over neleh. I think they both made enemies in the show but i figured neleh would win. I didnt like kathy at first but i would have liked her to win.

I thought rosie did a great job with the reunion show she is hysterical!! even dh was in hysterics laughing at her commment about kathy running to pee on johns hand. I felt bad that she didnt really "talk" to the first few people out but everyone is really more interested in the folks that stayed there longer and that everyone got to know.

soooo, who is going to thailand??? how long can the snakes really be????

I wasn't really disappointed, but more annoyed at the two finalists. At least there were more twists and turns in this Survivor than the others. I felt that Kathy should have won. She played the game the best (in my humble opinion).

This was my second favorite Survivor series. I really liked the diversity of the contestants. If I had only one suggestion for the producers, it would be to limit the amount of bible thumpers. Three out of 14 was a bit much and it became tiresome really fast.

I agree with you there.

I loved Tammy's speech at the end. She hit the nail squarely on the head with that.

As a Christian myself - the bible thumping got a little annoying. Maybe they thought the more times they mentioned God or Jesus, the better chance they had at winning.

My theory is that V won simply because Tammy and John especially resented that their little plan was foiled by Neleh and Pascal realizing they were out if they did not vote them off....In other words they held a grudge against Neleh for playing the game too well and defeating them at their own game....I too thought Kathy should have won... As to Vee, I am still amazed that she was able to change alliances at every turn without making real enemies out of many more people.
I like to see religious people on these shows, but you are right that they filmed too much of that aspect. I think Tammy went too far in her speech and I think she was really just motivated by a personal resentment about getting voted off. Very childish in my opinion. Play the game=be prepared to lose.

I was very happy with the outcome of the game.

First off let me say one thing. Neleh is MORMON. As a Christian, I can safely say that Christians and Mormons are NOT the same thing.

Anyways, I didn't see all the episodes, but I didn't really get Tammy's thing - she seemed like a poor sport.

I just don't really remember all of those things she said - where was all the lying and cheating that she talked about, cause I never really noticed it.

THe only time was with the alliance of four and tough for them, but they were beat by an alliance of five. They should have done better recruiting. Tough for them.

This may have been my all time favorite survivor. Although I didn't expect the finalists to be V and Neleh, I'm not too disappointed. I thought Kathy may have been more deserving because she worked so hard and was so determined. I like Neleh. Too many think because she is good that she must be fake. I don't think she was trying to be decietful but wanted to play the game to win...like all the others that came to Survior (except for maybe Gabe). She would have been a fool to have not broken off from the four cocky, power hungry John, Zoe, Tammy and Rob. I just didn't think V had much of a personality until the end. She was too much of " tag along" to Sean. Sean at times I couldn't stand (he was too paranoid about the whole race thing)..and at other times I adored him. What a great group of people they had chosen this time! I loved the reward that he and Pappy shared! That was so cool. I would have loved to have seen Gina and Hunter go farther in the game. Rob was such a goof...blew it for them.

Oh, BTW, I'm a Mormon and believe in Christ so therefore I'm a Christian...hense the true name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.

I'm glad V won! I would have rather seen Kathy take it as she did play well, especially having been close to getting voted off several times. As for V, having gotten to the final two did show she played the game just a tad bit better than Kathy. I think it was John who mentioned her staying under the radar and that surely is a statedgy that can work. I did like the twists in this game and was surprised as well that V did make Neleh that offer in the final immunity challenge, but hey, she was playing the game! So GOOD FOR HER!

As for V and Neleh lying and cheating???? I don't know. I personally didn't see where they did or where they compromised their faith or ethics. They were playing the game and attempting to outwit the others. That game was constantly changing and you need to adapt your stratedgy as well. Neleh and Pascal were very wise to side with the others and vote out John, Tammy, etc. It's called survival....hence the name of the show - Survivor.

As for the religion, I am Christian and it was nice to see that playing the game did not interfere with their faith and thanking the Lord. I am thankful daily for all I've been blessed with and I'm sure they felt blessed every day they outlasted another player, let alone just the opportunity to be there to play the game. Who knows how weak they really felt at times and maybe it was their faith (okay, the money, too) that kept them going. Maybe it was too much for some other tribe members and some viewers, but being over-driven by their faith is just an opinion and in terms of the show, it's all editing. Were they trying to get a certain response from viewers by editing it this way? Did they edit it this way due to 9/11 and the state our country has been in since? Did they bring on a number of religious vs. not-so-religious tribe members to create tension and adversity?

Great season, Mr. Burnett! Can't wait until Thailand!

Since I was the one that started the "bible thumping" remark, I need to clarify something. I classified Neleh as one. I was wrong. One of my friends pointed this out to me and asked me if I ever heard Neleh preach. I thought for a moment and couldn't recall any. I think it was only mentioned a couple of times that she is a Mormon but I never heard her do the Sean or Vecepia rant on praising the Lord. So actually, I take it back about Neleh. Sorry.

My conclusion for this Survivor is Beware of Sore Losers: John and Tammy and Robert were all sore losers so they voted against Neleh, whom they held responsible for their demise, when in reality it was their own cockiness (revealing their planned exit order so obviously in that fateful challenge event) that killed them. Zoe was the only one of the 4 who overcame that resentment and voted for Neleh. I have come to this conclusion because when I review Vee and Neleh in my mind, Neleh was the nicer, more deserving person. Vee was just good at changing alliances and if I may be a little resentful myself, I resent how she did Kathy dirty at the end.

Yeah, what Chippers said!

But you know what, I would really like to be on Survivor. I might just last about 4 minutes until they ganged up on me, killed me, and tossed my body to be eaten by the native animals. I take that back.....I'd only give them 2 minutes.

I think the reason crazytimes said because Christians worship Jesus as Savior and as God- He and the Father, and Holy Spirit are all God (as water is water, ice, and steam). Christians believe there is only one God, and only by accepting His sacrifise can we be forgiven.

I have heard that the Church of Latterday Saints (Mormon) believes that Jesus is an Arch Angel, not God, but created. I have heard that they believe that we all can attain a
"God" or "God like" status by our behaviour here on earth.

As far as Survivor goes, I think editing may have played a part in it. Christianity is often linked with a "holier than thou" attitude, by those observing it. I believe that some Christians do give that attitude, and some don't, just like some non christians do, and some don't. I don't think Neleh, or Vecepia gave that attitude, I think that they messed up a few times (sinned), all the players out there did. But whenever I remember her talking of religion, Vecepia was always giving Glory to God, not saying that she was perfect. Its sad to see anyone sin, and worse to see a Christian, maybe because our expectations are so much higher for them.
