Pretty good! I think this is going to be a darn good season this time around. Lots and lots of people that are already on my nerves...lol

The Maraamu tribe did unbelievably poor in the immunity challenge. That was tough! I couldn't believe their fire starter went underwater and after they had to go to the other sides to get theirs lit, they put one of them out again in the water.
Sarah looked like she was helping them carry that boat out into the water by her pinkie...lol She was barely hanging on to it while they were running. She's not gonna last for sure.

Too early to really get a good feel for everyone. Right now it looks like there are several members on each team trying to take a leadership role and we all know how quickly that turns everyone else against them..lol Can't wait till next weeks show.

Someone please explain to me how an island completely surrounded by a salty ocean can produce a waterfall that brings fresh water?? Where did that fresh water come from? Filtered through the dirt and all takes out the salt?? I'm befuddled....lol

I thought it was a good show. I'm glad they went back to a tropical setting. I love the scenery. I couldn't figure out the waterfall producing fresh water either. Sarah has GOT to go soon. I don't know how she even survived this long. LOL

Why oh why did I watch it? promised myself that I wouldn't get hooked again!!!!

Okay, Looks like Sarah, Queen of the Nile (lol) will be gone next. Did you see her ordering them around when they were paddling in and not lifting a finger to help?

Was a good show, got a real feel for em right off the bat this time!

Yep, Got Hooked again!

It was fairly good. I like Hunter and Gina. I really don't like Sarah, Rob, or Sean. I don't think they showed enough of the other team's personalities. They spent most of their time trying to light the fire. I was glad that they voted off Peter. I couldn't believe that jerk forming a meeting to decide who to vote off. He certainly got his dues.

Fresh water

Tropical island = lots of rainfall = runoff from the mountains = fresh water!!! I am not being a smartblank - really I'm not, lol

I lived on Okinawa for 3 years - small island in the middle of the pacific and we had TONS of rain, we had a six foot deep ditch in our back yards just to handle the run-off in the monsoon season!

All those plants couldn't live on salt water either.

Also - tropical areas have an almost greenhouse affect - the humidity builds up because they are surrounded by water and almost every day you will have rain in some part of the island, expecially the higher elevations.

I just loved that first show...what a hoot...didn't take long for those people to start trashing the people they don't like did it?
Did Hunter just come off as being TOO strong? Is Sean a little too whiney about not getting the lead as the "alpha" male? Is Sarah the next Lindsey? So many questions...so few answers!

Wish they would have given us a little more feedback on the other tribe...I am just as confused as BEFORE last night (no comments please, hahahaha)

Got to check my charts, cards, runes and magic 8-ball...can't wait for next week already...man, that hour is FAST!!!

I have scrolled down WITHOUT reading your impressions of the first show so that I could give my own thoughts before I read yours.
I loved the setting. So beautiful (waterfalls especially). I think the contestant selection is pretty interesting so far. Peter was very outspoken, and even tho he was responsible for getting the fire going with his yoga inspired lungs, he deserved to be the first voted off. I did not pick him tho, I went with the woman who is my age and shape...LOL I do not think she will last long. And Sara of the same tribe was a hoot. Did you see her sitting in the boat doing nothing until they arrived, and then standing up like she was queen of the island? First impressions, she and the construction worker, Rob, deserve each other, as they both seem pretty shallow. Hunter, the pilot, seems like a pretty solid leader for his tribe. I liked Sean too. Is that name right for the Harlem school teacher? He is funny and I think we will be treated to a lot of laughs....The other tribe was not filmed enought to give me many impressions....The real estate agent seems pretty pushy, the judge looked like he was continually biting his tongue to keep from saying something while the others were at each other. The others succeeded in "flying below my radar" Cannot wait until next week.....

Chatter box

Chippers I agree with you except I thought that Rob was pretty funny too. I also thought the judge was keeping his mouth shut which is smart if you have watched the other Survivor shows. I asked my 14 yr old son who did he think would be in the final four and the only one he picked was the judge.

Hunter looked to be a good leader without coming off too strong. He just seems to know what he is talking about.

Don't you feel a little sorry for the the team that has the little watering hole (at least it's not muddy like in Africa) when the other has a beautiful waterfall that they can swim in.

water hole vs waterfall??

doesnt that seem pretty unfair? i would be soooo bummed if i was on the other team and found out they had a great waterfall to play in and get water from. I wonder if the other team hasnt looked around well enough and they have water somewhere else????

good first show. i was surprised peter got booted, not that he didnt deserve it, but i figured he would stay around a little longer because he is male. patricia will go real soon. so will sarah. dont see any real bonds setting up for htem. ii really liked hunter. like the rest of you dont have a great feel for the other tribe yet. will be tough to do some voting.

karen - waiting for another week to go by

Oh my goodness I loved this!!! Excellant cast of characters. Oh-La_La_ Hunter!!! I also liked the guy with blond curly hair. Not sure who I am going to go for to win though seems so early in the game. Gosh enough EYE-Candy for men or women on this show LOL. Also seems like more normal people not the real odd balls the last survivor had IMHO. Love where they are that is nice scenery. Well quess I will go figure out who to go all the way and write Sandy

Great show!! Looks like there will be more promiscuity this time around maybe.

Why, oh why did they get rid of Peter and keep Patricia??? They needed Peter for the challenges. I don't see Patricia being much help there. This is Survivor and not Jeopardy...only the strong can survive and prosper!! Plus, I bet the reward challenges will be for food so you will definitely want to win those...most competitions involve strength. Should be an interesting season!

I agree. I think this group of people have the potential to be much more interesting and endearing (in their own annoying or fetching ways) than those in Africa. The producers sure missed when they chose the contestants for Africa. Even on the first episode of that season, you could tell there was something missing--at least, in my opinion.

Okay, maybe Patricia is weaker than Peter, and he does seem like a nice guy, but he also came across like a fruit cake! I would have gotten rid of him first too, because he would have driven me crazy for any length of time. However, Patricia would be next in my sights. Followed closely by Sarah and her breasts. Yea, Hunter is the man. I also really like Gina. I'm neutral on Vecepia. Rob amused me at first, but then proceeded to bother me. I like Sean's sense of humor, but he's a bit too....I don't know what it is exactly, but I think he's going to bug me.

Wow, the other team--Rotu?--wasn't very memorable. I had to go to the CBS web site just to remember who was there. I think Kathy's days will be numbered. On a related note, I totally admired John for being able to look past her (perceived--or not) negative attitude and give her the benefit of the doubt as far as starting the fire was concerned! He received high marks from me on that. I honestly don't have any other opinions on that team right now.

Last, but not least, what's up with a beautiful water vs. a hole in the ground?!? Well, at least the hole in the ground isn't filled with elephant dung.

I think this season will be a good one!
