Big grin Ready for Survivor and Amazing Race???
I think it is time we gear up for these two competitions! I am going to change the name of the forum to Survivor 4 - Amazing Race 2 to accomodate both.

We need moderators to handle the contests for both shows. I am going to offer Pandybat first crack at Survivor 4 since she did such a great time on the last season. If she doesn't want to do it, someone else can volunteer. And we need someone to do The Amazing Race 2.

There will not be weekly prizes for this contest. There WILL be a grand prize of a $50 Amazon gift certificate to the final winner of each contest. So this one is more for fun. But I think it can be a blast!

Let the discussion begin...

No one is stepping forward to run the contests. If we don't have volunteers to do the whole season, I guess we won't have a contest.

I can't wait for these two shows ~ Survivor 4 starts Feb 28 and Amazing Race 2 starts March 11.

Mayor, I wish I could volunteer, but we're fighting with AOL (it is SOOOO tempermental) - it's just too hard to go backward from DSL and my second obstacle is that we're still trying to get things out of storage, unpacked, etc. We're just going crazy.

It would be great to have the contest and be able to participate, but regardless, it's great to have a forum to come discuss the shows with our online buddies! Thanks Mayor!

I am disappointed to hear that we will not have a contest(s). But I realize it was a lot of work for Pandy, and imagine no one is willing to take that on. I myself am not computer savvy enough to handle such a position. Plus there is a family issue that has the potential to take up a large portion of my time.
I would like to suggest a very simple contest for each show. Perhaps after the first show everyone who is interested could try to predict the overall winner(s). Predictions could be recorded and everyone who made the right pick with this ONE prediction could be entered in a pool to determine the ultimate winner for each show.
I am still looking forward to the start of these two "reality" shows, which for me offer an escape for a brief time from some of the real realities of life such as terrorism, war, hatred, immorality, and the suffering of the poor and sick.

Hey!!! I'm here! I'm here!!
Things have been so crazy around here that I haven't had much time to come to DOD and check out every forum.

Of course I will do the Survivor thing again! And I am all for Chippers idea of simplifying the contest since last time was so time consuming for me. Not that I didn't love doing it but it was really starting to get downright hard to keep track around the holidays and all. Anyone have any other suggestions for having the contest??

As far as the Amazing Race tho, I never can keep up with that show. Someone else would have to do the tallies on that one. Any takers?

Only thing about this Survivor thing is, I am going to miss one episode while I am gone to Las Vegas in April. And with the hubby being VCR-illiterate, you all would have to fill me in on what happened when I got back.

Survivor starts in 5 days!!! YIKES!! Do I need to get crackin' on some rules or is this thing a no go? Comments, suggestions?

Mr. Mayor...

Perhaps you could give us an idea of what is involved in being the moderator? What you have to do each week, etc., then maybe it would be easier to figure out if it is something someone would be interested in?

I don't know exactly what it would entail...so, if you could give me a clue...I just might want to?

'The Amazing Race 2' to Have a Special Preview on Monday, March 11 at 10:00 PM Before Moving to Its Regular Wednesday 9:00 PM Time Period on March 13.

We love Amazing Race and Survivor.

Pennywise- watch Amazing Race- it was awesome and we can't wait for the new ones to start.
