Is it just me, or is this Survivor show not as intriguing as the previous two? I'm trying to remember if it took me a few episodes to get addicted to the earlier shows. Because, so far, I don't feel the same "burning desire" to watch Survivor as I did last season (for instance). In fact, I'm getting a little bored with it. And this, despite the fact that I'd consider myself a Survivor fanatic. The contestants this time just don't "do it" for me. There are a few I like, but overall, I don't care what happens to most of them. That's a bit like how I felt with "Big Brother". Although it was boring last year (first season), I got attached to watching it, because most of the people were decent. It was supposed to be more interesting this year, but I found most of the contestants offensive and didn't like to watch because they weren't people I would choose to be around in real life, so I didn't care to waste my time watching them on tv. I'm probably in the minority in this because shows like "Jerry Springer" are so popular. What do you think? |

I kinda agree with you. But I think its always the first few shows its getting to know everybody, but it seems to me every show right now I am not able to get to know people and/or they are ignoring one whole tribe. I don't know its different for me also but I am thinking it will heat up as time goes on. ~~Debbie

Good observation. "Dynamic personalities"--that's what's missing. There just doesn't seem to be anyone to care about or root for. A bunch of whining malcontents don't equal dynamic personalities.

One other thing different is there is no real scenery here. Everywhere you look it looks the same. The last one had such beautiful scenery I wanted to go there. Africa I just don't want to go there I quess.~~ I am also surprised everyone is not saying that they are stinkin LOL~~Debbie

Another good point. Being stuck in Africa looks plain miserable. At least the previousl two locales were appealing. Thank goodness they're going back to an island in the South Pacific for Survivor 4. And, I guess we're lucky that tv isn't "smell-o'vision". |

I'm feeling the same thing with the new Survivor, not the "I HAVE to watch it" drive that I had last season. I only like a couple of the personalities this season, and the ones I DO NOT like are not as interesting as some of the "love to hate" personalities in the past (i.e. Jerri). I guess the biggest thing is that I don't see anyone I feel I will become attached to like I did Roger...he gave me a reason to watch because I SO wanted him to win. I could be wrong, but I don't see anyone even remotely comparable to him this episode in terms of me cheering them on. Lex does seem kinda cool, but he doesn't have anything on Roger!

I guess I am the oddball here. I love watching these things evolve. I like seeing a tribe divide and conquer as the S.... is doing. I find some of these personalities just as interesting in their own way: Clarence, the food snitch who is too strong to get rid of Frank, the military guy who all the young foks hate Silas, the con artist, who said just enough to give the old folks hope and then helped break-up their alliance by booting Carl Brandon, the wimp Teresa, who reminds me a little of Survivor 2's winner, but does not seem to have what it takes to go all the way Lex, the strong silent type the 2 Kims I have not sorted out yet Is the 56 year old named Kim? She is pretty cool for an oldster/ one of my favorites Tom is a blast/ Did you see him dancing around during the immunity challenge? / they had to sensor him Linda, the one who gets into spirituality and African gods and goddesses. Give it a couple more weeks and you may get into these personalities a little more.

I'm with Chippers on this one.....there really hasn't been alot of episodes to get me going yet, well, except for maybe last night when it was Carl against Lindsey at the tribal council. But I am definitely into all of it so far. I can't NOT watch it! lol You gotta remember, when we were watching last night, these people have only been in Africa about a week. We still have alot to go yet. I think it's gonna get real interesting the more we go along. Especially when it comes down to merging time. Theres gotta be no way Boran is gonna put up with the Samburu Brats! LOL |

Call them brats but they were just plain stupid to vote off one of the hardest workers. From what I see , the young ones do little or nothing around there.Like when they said they would cook breakfast if they didn't have to go for water. Then they cooked enough for themselves to gorge on and left nothing for the water bearers. Unfortunately they will probably get rid of the older group because they outnumber them

| Richard Hatch changed Survivor forever!
Very interesting question. Survivor 1 was the best because it was new and different. It came on in the summertime when nothing else was on. I believe that Richard Hatch from Survivor 1 changed how all future Survivors (and Big Brothers, etc.) will be played. Remember in Survivor 1, after the teams merged and they went to their first tribal council, the biggest surprise to me was when Gretchen got voted off. The four people in the alliance voted for Gretchen and everybody else voted for someone different. There was no unity. That will never happen again. Now, it doesn't matter how hard you work but more importantly, which alliance you are in. That is all that matters. There is way more scheming and back-stabbing this way. ~Shaina

I can't decide whether I like this season or not. I don't feel the need to watch it. But I don't move once I'm on the couch. It's still one of my favorite shows but this season is lame so far. I agree about the Samburu Brats. They ruined their chances. Brandon is whiney and Lindsey is snooty. They won't make it very far. The older people unfortunately will probably be picked off one by one. The little guys will regret that in the long run. When they are too lazy to go get water and keep themselves safe from the lions and other animals. I definately like the other team better. Tommy has a lot of character and Clearance will get by with his strength. They need him and they know it. I really like Lex. I am voting his way as winner so far. I just hope it gets better. |

This Survivor just doesn't do it. The others you couldn't wait to see what happens next. But for me there seems to be no team spirit just a bunch of brats against working people.

I agree that I am not getting into this season's survivor as much as I did in past. The first season was the best, and it has been going down hill since then. I still plan on watching this week in the hopes that things will get more interesting. So far the only person that I like is Tom. He was funny doing that dance!
