Play the Survivor 3 Contest at DoD and win!

Hey Gang,

Per our discussion on the Chit Chat forum, I decided to start a Survivor forum, which will be the place to go to discuss all things related to Survivor 3: Africa.

I would also like to put together a contest for everyone to join in. Basically taking off on the ideas previously discussed, I envision it going like this.

1) We watch the first week and get a feel for the contestants. Here is the official web site to read up on them.

They are Brandon, Carl, Clarence, Diane, Ethan, Frank, Jessie, Kelly, Kim J., Kim P., Lex, Linda, Lindsey, Silas, Teresa and Tom.

2) Each week, you will get to predict the future in at least two areas. Who is going to get the boot? Which tribe will win immunity? Who is going to win the whole competition? And perhaps some others as well.

3) You will receive different points for predicting correctly. I am thinking that we should give minimal points for guessing which tribe wins immunity. And then we should scale points for the other areas depending on how hard it is to make that prediction. For example, if someone predicted that Kelly was going to win from the get-go, that person should receive more points than someone who predicts Kelly in week 8, right?

So, we need to flesh this out a bit. What I REALLY need is someone to MODERATE this thread AND the contest. This person must be a Survivor addict, and must have the time to manage the contest. What does the winner get? To be decided.. but once the moderator is selected and we get the rules ironed out, I'll announce the prizes. There will likely be 5 prizes for the top five point scorers.

We also need to find a way to level the playing field for people who get involved along the way, perhaps creating handicaps for those who jump in within the first 8 weeks... I dunno.. this is for y'all to discuss and think through with me.

Also, we'll need to decide how to manage the forum so the threads are usable... AND, we need to decide how people will formalize their predictions. Will we post them publically? Should we instant message them to the emcee? email them?

I would like to be an emcee but I would also like to play along and be eligible to win too. Does that sound fair to everyone that the emcee should be allowed to play as well??

I have some ideas for some rules but am having trouble incorporating people that want to start playing in the middle of the games and still giving them a fair shot at winning.
Anxious to see what other ideas other DODer's come up with. This is gonna be so much fun!!!
