survivor fans vs favorite discussion

What happened??? I can't believe he did that. I totally do not see john being the "fatherly" type. it is sweet but very unexpected. did he get to go home though after being voted off? I thought they still had to stay around for the 39 days.

what is up with the two couples. Not a good idea for james to get involved with someone like that. they become too much of a target knowing they will have an alliance with each other that is obvious. and amanda and ozzy look like they get very cozy next week!!

That Kathy from the fans has got to go. too bad Yo Man pointed out the idol to her. hopefully she will give it up to someone else so she can be voted out. she sounds miserable in the rain but you have to wonder what type of fan she really is to not know it is going to pour rain out while they are there. It ALWAYS rains on survivor.

Overall I think this will be a great show.!!

Kathy's idol was only good for the first week so it is worthless now. She is a loose cannon. I think they will boot her early.
I am amazed that James and Ozzy have already cozied up with a female. It does make them both targets. Of course we have to remember that most of the female favorites are flirts, especially Parvati and Amanda.
What do you think of the fans so far?

I think Kathy's idol is still good. Jeff said good for the first visit to tribal council. I took it to mean for each team. We will see though

I liked the fans but it surprises me that they are such big fans and they don't know how to build a shelter or fire or find food. You would think first when they made it to the interviews they would have started thinking about those things. can no one fish on their team? that seems like the easiest and smartest move to me. go to the water and start looking for snails and things that are on the rocks that have meat. they show it every season. even I have learned that part!!! I don't feel like we got a good taste of who the fans are though. they showed Kathy, being flaky, and that is all that sticks out to me about the fans. next weeks show will probably show them a bit more, i hope.

Yeah, I agree w/ Karen. We really didn't get to know the fans too well.

Kathy will get to use the immunity idol the first time she goes to tribal council is the impression I got too. Although, she looks totally out of her element out there.

Liz- you are correct. The hooking up is idiotic! It's a show and if you're there to WIN, you don't pull that nonsense. It makes you stand out too much.

IMO, being a huge fan doesn't mean you will be a good contestant. I've seen every minute of every Survivor show ever aired and I know I couldn't do that show.

I just posted the guesses for next week.
Just a note: I was going to say no on Mary until you reminded me Kathy is safe the first council. I believe Mary is very vulnerable, as they will be trying to preserve their strength the first few episodes.
They tried to fit so much into the first show, I feel sure we will get to know the fans a little better this coming week. At least I hope so.

Well the fans are not doing very well.
But I am glad to see they broke up that early alliance. So many young ones on the same team is a problem for the 3 older ones. Expect to see them go quickly if fans cannot win some immunities.
The favorites really do excel at caring for themselves.
Personally, the two "showmances" make me a little ill, and I will not be sad to see one or both get broken.

I can't believe 3 of the 5 people in the contest correctly thought that Mary would receive some votes at Tribal Council. I didn't see that AT ALL. She's not weak or annoying and I *still* didn't think up until the end of the show that she would have been the one to go home. Kudos to the fireman though for coming up w/ a clever plan and getting the others to follow through w/ it.

How the heck did Chet make it past the first cut and onto the show? I don't get it. He is ridiculous.

What a great time to outwit and outplay Ozzy! Getting him out of the game would be HUGE! Chet had no loyalty to Tracy at the end and left her high and dry.

Kudos to Ami for seeing that she was at the bottom of the favorites totem pole and switching sides. Smart decision IMO. Well, maybe- I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

I was searching the internet for previews of this weeks show, I realized I never see them so Liz's Q's always throw me for a loop. Well, I hit this one site, which I tought was CBS and it wasn't, but it had an interview with Chet and Jonathon and chet commented on why he left. He said they were going to take him from the game if he didn't leave because of his foot. So he decided instead of just disappearing off the show he wanted to go out by tribal council. Which I think is silly. He should have gotten ozzy voted out then been taken out by medical and people would have looked at him as a stronger (dont' know if that is really the right word) player because he was injured and not just a weak link plus he would have taken the strongest player out of the game and would have looked like a great strategist.

^I agree Rafala! What he is saying makes no sense- he was at tribal council and could have voted for whomever he chose at that time.


I have to say that overall, the fans are playing a horrible game. They got rid of the strong players early on and kept the weak. Then they didn't stick together at all. They are handing this game over to a favorite IMO.

Great show again. I love Ozzy but he had to go. Same with James and Jason. If the girls have any chance of winning they need vote off the big strong guys now. ozzy can be mad but like he said of the Favs alliance, they have played the game before and know they need to stick together. well, really they have played the game before and know they need to get the idol and the strong players gone. I think Amanda will be stupid if she doesn't go along with Parvati and gets all mad at her changing the game. Cirie, Amanda and Parvati can go all the way if they play the game correctly. get the final 5 girls then get rid of the 2 fan girls and 3 fav girls in the final 3!!

Looking forward to the fall out next week though from this bombshell

OK, I will keep talking to myself here Loved last nights show. It would have been great if erik had not won immunity but I loved how the idol went down. I really wasn't sure Amanda had found it. she really played it well with her doe eyes and all.

I feel so bad for James. I will have to go to the site and read up on what happend. I don't remember him doing anything to his hand and when I turned it on last n ight the doc was looking at it the first time. Maybe I missed it first thing in the show?

I hope everyyone else is still enjoying the show even without the contest

I'm still here, reading your posts. Just haven't been posting. Amanda was great, she really did play it well. It was a shame James had to go out on medical issue. I'm glad he was at least able to continue on the jury.
