Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

While others who have posted here will disagree, I just gotta say, "Yea! The blondes are finally gone!"

I was really disgusted with Rob's behavior tonight, even more so than usual, but I'd still prefer that he and Kim win than those underhanded, full-of-themselves beauty queens. I don't typically badmouth people, but something about them just got under my skin. Maybe it was the fact that they'd smile oh-so-pretty and wheedle and manipulate and and then stab people in the back, justifying it all in the name of "the game." Yes, that's reality, but many others have been competitive while showing considerably more class and character. I couldn't believe that they actually had the nerve to ask James and Tyler to let them get to the mat first if it came to a foot race at the end. Yeah, they had to give it a try, I suppose, but c'mon! They had taken every opportunity they could to trample over others to get ahead, but they still thought that if they batted their eyelashes and took a pleading tone, the boys would melt? Thankfully, it didn't come to that--it was a clear-cut, fair elimination--but I was flabbergasted that they even brought it up.

Of the teams that are left, I'd have to say that I'm rooting, not particularly enthusiastically, for "the boys" almost by default because both of the other teams have been so nasty at various times, although I have to express a begrudging admiration for the 'Bama girls' perseverance and their consequent improbable presence in the final three.

Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

I have been so wrong about Lyn and Karlyn. If I did not pick them to lose each week, I'd be winning this contest!

Yeah I agree, I kept thinking Lyn & Karlyn would be out each week but look how far they made it. Congrats to Tyler and James for taking home the title! Good job boys! Rob & Kim did well this episode too, close one!

Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

I was very happy to see Tyler and James pull off the victory. It was nip and tuck a few times.
Thank you Russell for running this contest for us.It was lots of fun. Congratulations to the winner whoever she may be.

Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

In the final analysis, Tyler and James really deserved to win, I think. They ran a (mostly) clean race, worked well as a team with only minor crankiness, and were physically dominant throughout. It's good to see folks rise above difficulties (their former drug addictions) and do something like this; it sends a very positive and optimistic message to the public.

And now, I'm really looking forward to All-Stars in February!!!

After the blonds were eliminated I was wondering who I would want to win. And that thought did cross my mind: Bama always bickering/complaining/backstabbing "allies" and then you have Rob and Kim...well, enough said. And figured Tyler/James did have a pretty smooth race together (aside from the finale lol). But, in the end, I didn't want T/J to win or Bama...I guess I was pulling for Kimberly?

Ahhh and yes, that was cool to hear it was going to be out in February...just around the corner! You should play with us next time TTMommy if you want it; we'd love to have you!

Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

anyone know who is in the all-star version? I must have missed that announcement. Should be interesting. Unlike Survivor where past winners were picked off early, since they had already won, they can't do that in AR because it is such in individual game.

sounds cool. And starting in Feb?? how awesome is that??!!!

The only ones I've heard are David and Mary, who don't really seem to me to be "all-star" candidates, despite the fact that they are unique and interesting/amusing (I loved Mary's comment about gay people! ) and stayed in longer than anybody thought they would. It's nice to give them another chance, but for All-Stars, with such a big pool to pick from, I guess I'm just surprised. (I don't mean to sound petty! I really like David and Mary, and I'm glad to see them get another shot at it.)

Ah, here's an article, citing CBS and Variety as sources:

Uchenna and Joyce!! Yea!!! And NO Jonathan and Victoria! Double-yea!!! Rob and Amber?!? Not again!!! (Although I guess every race needs an underhanded scoundrel to add drama....)

Re: The Amazing Race - DISCUSSION thread

Thanks for the info and link!

I loved Chip!! Wish he were on it

Well, maybe David and Mary are on it for holding the record for the arriving LAST at the most pit stops LOL

I'd love to see the Race w/out a Colin/Christie or Rob/Kim type team.

But yeah, we learned from BigBrother....that "All-Stars" does not necessarily means "best player" lol And also that, (well it might have been fan voted) but that the more recent they were on the Race, the better odds they have to make it (or the more people want to watch them?) so maybe that answers why for David/Mary.
