Oops--my mistake!! I had watched the immediately preceding episode on tape just a day or two before this last one, and I got mixed up as to what happened when. I was referring to Ozzy's "bonding" with Nate and discussing strategy with him; of course, when push came to shove, Ozzy voted with his allies and Nate got the axe, but I was glad to see Ozzy thinking things through a bit more than usual, or seeming to anyway....

Ahhh yeah, that was very good on his part. But, yeah he had to cut him loose; can't shoot down 3-4 people for one semi-alliance.
But good point, at least he did show (us) that he had it in him

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

You know, I don't know......(I admit I don't like Ozzy) but, when the immunity challenge began tonight I was telling someone that Ozzy should have thrown this challenge tonight...but he shot right out of the gate. My theory/strategy (which I'm not sure Ozzy is really thinking about) is that if he constantly wins all of these swimming (especially) contests, are the other people really going to want to keep him around much longer?? He should know he was safe this episode, so why not show people you are not invincible (even if you are)?

I was sorry to see Jonnyboy leave tonight. Not sure why tonight was the night, but I'm sure the Aitu-4 were a little concerned that he might make it past them somehow. Whereas (one would think) Adam & Parv are going to bite the dust real soon.

Question Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

Is the final episode of Survivor next week? I tried to find the information online someplace, but I could only find one place. That site listed 12/14 (next week) as the final. Does that include the "live" results and reunion show or just the final contests at Cook Island? Anybody know?

There are still 6 people left! That's a lot to get down to two people, if in fact they are going to narrow it down to 2 people at the end (remember there would be an even number of jury members?).

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

I just went to the site, cbs.com, and under the voting history they have 3 more blocks left. it looks like it goes down one more person then the next vote it keeps the same number of people than it goes down to 5 people for the final set of blocks. clear as mud right, here is the link to it [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]. in other words 6 people vote the next two times, double elimination??, then 5 people vote the next time. if it was a double elim then only 4 people would be voting.

i wonder if there are 4 people in the final show? instead of the final 2 it is the final 4????

hmmmm, one of those things that make you go hmmmm.

karen

just read the past survivors notes and they said the finale is on sunday so we have thursday night then sunday. so 2 people must go on thursday night. double elimination it must be.

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

The Amazing Race finale is on Sunday so Survivor finale would not be the same night. perhaps the following Sunday . I was sorry to see the group turn on Jon and vote him out. He didn't deserve to go yet, and Adam is a much stronger player and will probably win immunity. With a bit of luck he could win it all and I would hate to see that happen. I wonder why the four didn't stick to their plan.

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

Sheesh!! It made NO sense to vote Jonathan out this week! No matter how annoying he may be or how much less tense the camp is with him gone, strategically, Adam should've been the one to go because he is the biggest threat (other than Ozzy, of course, if it's anything physical) in immunity challenges. Plus, as I've been saying, anybody up against Jonathan in the finals would win, so why not keep him around? If Adam or Parvati somehow makes it there, they have many more friends on the jury. They need to be taken out ASAP, so it was short-sighted, I think, for the alliance to join with Parvati and Adam in voting out Jonathan.

I agree that Ozzy probably shouldn't have put out his best effort in the immunity challenge. (And we know he's capable of throwing a challenge because they did so early in the game.) The only logical reason for either Yul or Ozzy to have won was to keep Adam, Parvati, or Jonathan from getting it, since they themselves were clearly safe. Ozzy is making himself an even bigger target, and when the four start having to eliminate each other, he's probably going to be the first to go since he's most likely to win immunity (assuming, again, that it's physical).

That said, I always love the family episode! No matter how much I dislike or am irritated by a competitor, I always cry when they are reunited, however briefly, with their family members. My very favorite ever was when we got to see Rupert's wife for the first time!

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

I agree about voting Jonathan out. Why would they do that? Makes no sense to me. He at least works around camp. Adam and Parvati seem to always be resting. Yul made a mistake IMO.

GREAT finale!

I was happy to see it come down to Yul and Ozzy! I would have been happy with either of them winning it.

Re: Survivor: Cook Island - DISCUSSION thread

I was happy with the outcome, although I would have been equally satisfied to see Ozzy win. (From his responses in the Q&A, it seems that Ozzy was a bit more strategic than he appeared at first glance. Unfortunately, his self-described one-dimensional "surfer" persona might have backfired because everyone assumed he wasn't really playing the game on anything other than a physical level, which could've made him seem less deserving of the win.) While deceit and treachery do add interest and excitement , this final four played the cleanest I've ever seen, and I really appreciated that. I was so impressed with the way that they chose to "decide" whether Becky or Sundra would go. It showed a lot of class, I think, that Yul and Becky opted not to play the idol. (By the way, Becky said Yul offered and she turned it down. From what we saw, it looked more like they discussed that possibility, including the potential downside for Yul, and that both chose not to go that route. I'm sure lots goes on behind the scenes, though....) Anyway, I really enjoyed this season, and I look forward to seeing Ozzy again if they have an All-Stars II!!
