Thumbs up The Apprentice 3

Anyone watching? I like this Street Smarts vs. Book Smarts idea. Should be very interesting to see how it goes!

I'm watching!! (Well, actually I'm taping it since I'm not home on Thursday evenings.)

Good show! That Danny sure is a character! I was glad Trump kept him though...he wasn't the one who lost the task.

Re: The Apprentice 3

I'm watching, too!

I like how the teams are divided this time around, instead of just men vs. women with 1 or 2 candidates lacking a degree. Time will tell if the Donald will actually hire a non-degreed individual.

My kids like watching it also. DD thinks Erin is an Ashlee Simpson look-alike!

Yep! You can have the most beautiful, exciting marketing campaigns, but if the POS takes a long time [at a FAST FOOD PLACE no less] then it's pointless.

They could have had NO marketing and still been able to suggestive and up-sell, but the lines were so long that they probably lost many opportunities to do that!

The marketing DID suck though and I can't understand why they didn't just stick with the original "Say Cheese" idea.

Re: The Apprentice 3

Looks like next week's episode should be interesting!

From Producer Mark Burnett, quoted in TV Guide:

"The pressure is so intense that for the first time, the possibility of a candidate leaving the job interview prematurely is a reality. And they must explain their actions to Donald Trump in another boardroom first."

Edited to clarify that this is from the TV Guide I received in this week's mail, which describes next week's show.

Chris Arrested

'Apprentice' Shelton Contestant Arrested
Apr 11, 6:42 AM EST

Real estate millionaire Chris Shelton, a contestant on NBC's "The Apprentice," was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge.

Shelton, 22, one of six remaining contestants competing for a job with Donald Trump, was taken into custody early Sunday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. He was released after posting $250 bail.

A tribal police officer said he heard a noisy Shelton in the hotel lobby and asked him twice to calm down before arresting him, said Seminole police spokesman Gary Bitner.

"He was loud and he just wouldn't calm down," Bitner said.

Shelton was peeved over a $20 cover charge for the hotel bar. Shelton "was at the lobby causing a scene," the police report said. "There were several patrons in the area who were visibly shaken by his actions. After several attempts to calm Shelton, he continued to yell and curse, refusing to calm down and stop causing a scene."

Shelton and some friends were staying at the hotel and celebrating his continued success on "The Apprentice," Bitner said.

"We don't really have any comment," NBC spokesman Jim Dowd said. "This is clearly a private matter with Chris." All but the final episode has been taped, and it isn't known if Shelton makes it that far.

Wow! That guy sure is a hothead! I am surprised he made it to the final 6 anyhow.

I suspect they kept him around to help the ratings. I highly doubt he will be in the final two.

Re: The Apprentice 3

Regarding Chris' arrest, a few more details from People magazine:

"In my defense, I didn't think it was a big deal, but the police department didn't think so," Shelton, 22, tells the Associated Press about the incident. He does admit, though, "I was out of line for raising my voice."

"Basically, what happened was I had paid about $2,000 for the most expensive suite they have," says Shelton, a Las Vegas resident. "In Vegas, I wouldn't have been bothered with a cover charge. It was a misunderstanding."

Shortly after Shelton's arrest became news, Donald Trump said of him at a press conference to discuss the NBC show: "He's got an anger management problem. We talked about it on the show. He truly is an angry guy."

On the show this season, Trump repeatedly called Shelton on the carpet for his lashing out, as well as for the young man's habit of chewing tobacco (Trump is a hard-liner when it comes to opposing tobacco in any form.)

Shelton tells AP that he's stopped tobacco and he's "working on" controlling his temper.

As for being axed in last Thursday's episode: "When I was fired, I had such an emotional release because of everything you go through in that experience: being in front of the cameras, the tasks, not sleeping. ... You get really broken down when Trump says, 'You're fired.'"

Re: The Apprentice 3

Anyone still watching it? I think its down to an interesting final 3. I'm rooting for Kendra, though I like Tana most of the time too. I could totally see her as a poster on this site! I heard that one of the final tasks involves New York's Olympic bid for 2012--should be fun to watch.

I'm still watching! Good show! Even though I didn't really like Craig, I thought he got the short end of the stick. He didn't even get to defend himself it looked like. If you get that far (final 3) you should at least have a chance to stand up for yourself.

Re: The Apprentice 3

The premise of this edition has been college graduates vs. those with only a high school education. Then it comes out last night that Tana (one of high school graduates) has three years of college but did not finish. That seems a bit misleading.

Re: The Apprentice 3

I agree, juliet. Poor Tana after last night's episode...her team was so hard to handle! I'm looking forward to seeing what the "employees" say about her and Kendra in the board room next week...

I'm not so sure about that. With some employers, at least, either you have a degree or you don't. Sometimes they aren't as concerned what your major was, either, just that you demonstrated the ability to start something, stick with it, and see it through till the end.

As for Tana, I was a fan for a while, but now it seems her true personality is becoming more evident, and she sure got blown away in the boardroom by Kendra's "whole package" argument to Trump.

Re: The Apprentice 3

I see your point Eldo but the show has made such a big deal out of the high school graduates spin, never mentioning they could have some college. I also agree about Tana, I liked her and thought she had a good shot at winning but some of her comments and actions have changed my opinion. I don't remember much about Kendra from the earlier episodes but she seemed to really start to shine when she designed the car brochure. She doesn't always have the best people skills but does seem to be pretty sharp.
