Re: Survivor discussion thread

Crazytimes I feel the same way. I know it takes a while to get to know everyone but this time I still don't know everyones names yet. There is also nobody I love or hate and there usually is by this time.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

I do not understand why they got rid of Lisa. If the women's alliance was strong they would have gotten rid of Rory. If they wanted to strengthen their team they would have gotten rid of Scout or Eliza or Leann (since she cost them the immunity challenge). I am not able to understand their thinking. Does Ami have some kind of hold on the others?
John K seems doomed. He has no allies anywhere. He is a very strong player and I like him best of all the men. But I like all the men better than the women. Except maybe Twila. I really like her. I wish they would give us a little more insight into how all the people are interacting this time. We only get little hints. Maybe when they merge we will see some shows that give us an idea of what these people are really like.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

I don't know how they came up with Lisa either. Both Eliza and Leann let their team down so it was a bit of a shock to see who they sent home.
That was a really rough challenge and the women being weaker swimmers didn't have much of a chance. It was funny to watch everyone rolling around in the mud trying to cach the pigs.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

From the Survivor website:
Due to offhand comments and previous Tribal Council deceptions, trust of Lisa wore thin within her alliance, and they decided rid Yasur of this suspect comrade.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

Some of the men really seemed to enjoy Julie bearing her bottom. I wonder if that will keep her in the game longer. Is it Lea and Twila that hit it off so well and made an "alliance"? I think Twila is playing the game well.
I missed too many shows to know anything about Lisa's past comments. I think I will take a look at her voting record if it is available on the cbs site. I had her as one of my early bootees so I am not grieving her loss, just wondering.
The pig wrestling and the way they handled it really was funny. I must say that Chad never lets his handicap stop him. I admire that.

I just checked the site for voting records and noted that Lisa did not always vote with the "in-crowd" For that matter, neither did Julie, so she may have been near next if she had remained with that tribe.

I hated the pig wrestling. The poor little pigs looked so scared and I was sitting there thinking "this is entertainment?" I realize people kill and eat pigs (I don't but that is another story) but what is the point of scaring the poor little things for the sake of a challenge?

Re: Survivor discussion thread

I guess we just have to disagree on that one Juliet. I view animals as companions (dogs and cats), useful helpers (camels, horses, mules etc.),and useful food providers (cows, pigs, fish, chickens)
We raised cows, pigs, and chickens on the farm. I enjoyed them while they were alive but had no qualms about killing them for food. And a little wrestling never hurt them. The pigs escaped occassionally and it was a real challenge to catch them. I think the challenge on Survivor did not hurt them at all. I bet a few minutes after it was over the pigs were totally back to normal.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

My oldest and I were laughing during the pig competition. It was funny watching everyone, especially the women in their bikinis wrestling the pigs. I thought it would have been a cool reward for them to keep the pigs and be able to eat them.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

We also got a kick out of the pig catching. My 8 year old ds would love to try it. I do think that Ami is calling the shots right now. I wonder if at some point they will vote her out, or go along with her until the end when its to late like people did with Rob and Amber? I think Julie getting an all over tan was in poor taste with a tribe made up mostly of men. I know she why she probably did it but I think laying with her top undone (but still mostly covered) would have been enough. I sure hope that team keeps Twila when/if they have to vote someone out. I really like her and am glad she found a team she can be comfortable with.

I know I have an overly soft spot for animals. Yesterday my husband and I drove an hour and a half to take one of our cats to a veterinary oncologist and will be spending around $4000 to try to keep her around a few more years (she is 12 1/2 now). Probably most people wouldn't do that so I will accept that I am most likely in the minority that was offended by the treatment of the pigs. By the way, I don't know what happened to the pig in the first epidsode and I don't want to know. We turned the channel until we were sure that part was over.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

Lisa voted against her alliance one time. Remember when everyone was deciding between Mia and Twila? It was going to be 4-4 (Dolly was gone so it made it even) and Lisa didn't stick with the "younger" crowd and she voted for Mia.

When Lisa made that comment to Ami...."let me go with you in case you aren't here" or something like that I didn't think it was that off the wall. No ONE person should be the only person who knows something.

I'm starting to like Rory. He worked hard and just wanted a fair shake. Lucky for him with all the in-fighting going on with the women that he got the fair shake that he requested.

Eliza should have been the one to go. She got lucky that LeeAnn messed up the immunity challenge because otherwise she would have gone against John. This has nothing to do with anything but how much does this girl weigh? She looks anorexic to me. She does not look healthy.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

I agree that Eliza is way too thin.I think that she could become seriously ill if she doesn't start getting a few good meals. She isn't just thin, she is scrawny.

Re: Survivor discussion thread

And she is annoying, and she voted against the alliance first by voting Dolly off and she caused them to lose the reward challenge.

She should have gone first. I really wonder what the alliance will be like when the teams merge, which should be coming after the next show(??????)

Re: Survivor discussion thread

The merge will be interesting.

The men seem like they are more unified than the women. The women bicker too much.

Question

Am I the only Survivor fanatic who is just not all that crazy about this season of Survivor? I don't know what it is but this season has not grabbed my attention like past seasons.

I still tape it every Thursday night (I'm not home on Thursday evenings) but now I don't exactly race to watch the tape like I used to. I don't even think there is someone this season that I am really rooting for and would be upset if they were voted out.
