I watched tonights "big band" show. The top three IMO were La Toya, Fantasia and Diana. As I was watching I was thinking that John Stevens would have done well tonight....this is his genre.

I actually only like Latoya out of the remaining 5. Fantasia has a very strange, screechy voice, IMHO

I was hoping Jasmine would've gone first, followed by George and Diane. I agreed w/ simone Fantasia and LaToya are in a different league and the others might be okay alone but next to them sound awful. Diane reminds me of a wedding singer. Okay talent but NOT enough to make it in the business.

I saw on ET that next week is 70's DISCO week with Donna Summer.

None of the contestants were even born in the 70's!! Sometimes I feel old!!

In my opinion Latoya was clearly the best. Can't believe she got the boot last night.

We were in Hawaii the last week of April (the week Jennifer was voted out) and the local paper there said Verizon had logged I believe it was 4.3 million calls (votes) from Hawaii. Then I heard that a total of 28 million votes had been cast. Assuming most of the 4.3 million from Hawaii were for Jasmine I guess that gives some insight into why she is still hangin' in there. If 1 out of every 7 votes in coming in from Hawaii I'm sure that is in her favor.

COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!! Latoya is truly the most talented. And jasmine's reaction was disgusting. I was reading replies on the AI forum, and she's getting tons of votes just because she is hawaiian. If Diana or Jasmine win it will be the end of AI for me. Neither can perform well and Diana's singing ranges from good to horrible. I can't stand hearing that chipmunk squeal "COME ON YA'LL" she does right before she starts her performance.

I'd have to agree with your thoughts. I suspect when the American public has an opportunity to vote with their wallets (when the albums start coming out) the results may be a little different. Can you even imagine owning a Jasmine or Diana album?

Personally I think the final 4 were all good, but in their own styles. I could see myself listening to all of their albums, it would just depend on my mood as to whom I listened to.

On a side note, I truly think Jasmine is getting a ton of votes because she is a very pretty girl and it is a popularity contest.

From the Washington Post: "American Idol," no longer a singing competition, turned into a high school popularity contest last night when two of the best singers the franchise has ever seen received the fewest votes from viewers, while another who forgot the words to a song during Tuesday night's competition apparently won viewers' sympathy because the judges had made her cry. Heck, if Jasmine Trias can keep the tears coming, she'll win this thing.

But I thought that the first season too - don't remember her name but she went on to star in Boston Public. She was clearly the best, and got booted.

I wouldn't buy anything from any of the finalists.

Shainie- you are thinking of Tamyra Gray. She has a beautiful voice.

I don't think AI is about being the best. Otherwise they would have talent scouts and not people at home make the decision on who stays or who goes.

If they are going to keep the show the same then I would like to see the voting changed so people vote for whom they want OUSTED from the show. That would be better than how it is now IMO.

I don't care about the voting, it doesn't matter. I'm sure LaToya already has a record deal.

If Fantasia is kicked off tonight I am never watching this show again. A final with Diana and Jasmine is just too disappointing. True, they can both sing better than I can, but Simon was right when he said that LaToya and Fantasia where in a different league (don't remember if that is the right word but it means the same thing) as the other singers.

I think tonight is finally Jasmine's turn to go. The final next wk will be between Diana and Fantasia IMO. Then who knows what will happen....although hopefully Diana will dress better if she makes it to the final.

Well there is some justice in the world. Latoya was my favorite but I could live with Fantasia as the winner. Actually Latoya and Fantasia are the winners regardless of how the voting turns out.

You are so right about Diana's wardrobe. It is my understanding that the show works with them on their clothing, makeup, etc so maybe she isn't the one to blame but sometimes it seems like they have selected the worst choice possible designed to show off her figure flaws. I think Latoya could wear just about anything and look good but not so for most of the rest of us.
