Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

Was anybody else really dissapointed in Rupert?? I didn't think he would be so,I don't know............. Seems to me that with Ethan and Tina was the way to go. I don't remember that Jenna, but I'm sure I didn't like her !!! Her whole attitude is very bitter and she needs to go.....Jerri always needs to go When Rupert said he would vote on merit and then voted Tina out,I was very dissapointed. Sue and Richard,I've had enough of them already.............. Jenna (the other one) was really quiet,I think... this may be interesting

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

I think rupert probably is tired. I mean he only had a couple/few months at home to get out of "game" mode before heading back to shoot this one, in the same area. He also seems to really love his wife and daughter and this is probably hard on him leaving them again. But, I do have to agree that he should have gotten rid of one of the other girls instead. hopefully they will show their true colors before they go to tribal council again and ethan will be sparred for a while

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

I soooo wanted Jenna to go. Did you all catch her LAYING on the raft in the water yelling at everyone to push??? She's right about getting the previous winners out of there. That's what I would be thinking, but I wouldn't have told everyone that just yet. The last people I would have wanted to know about that was Ethan and Tina. That just gives them all the more incentive to boot her out.

Richard....Richard, Richard, Richard. I seriously don't think he's going to go far. He's too annoying and too naked already! LOL

I was feeling down for Rupert. He just didn't look like he had it in him to be there again. I hope he goes far. He's too trusting sometimes. And that might be his downfall.

The looks on all their faces when JP told them they couldn't take their torches back with fire was so sad. The look JP's face was even more sad. You could tell he hated having to tell them that.

Can you believe Rudy is 75 years old and on Survivor again!??!?! Wow!

Anyone wanna take bets on how long Jerri's strategy of keeping her mouth shut is gonna last? LOL

I can't believe in this first show they have already been there 3 days with no reward challenge. This is going to be such a good game!

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

I just have to say that my total impression from the first night was that they have way too many strong personalities on this Survivor. I expect some really explosive behavior from some of these people. It could get really ugly.
What was that thing Richard said about being able to make fire any time he wanted? So cocky. Did he make fire successfully on the first Survivor? It seems to me that always before they gave the contestants some means of making a fire (like a magnifying glass). Just rubbing stuff together is really difficult. Especially in a rainy environment. Miserable.

DH and I noticed one of the women (Kathy? I can't remember) wore glasses and we wondered why they didn't try using the glasses to start the fire.

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

Eldo...I noticed the same thing. Nobody there seemed to think of it though. When plan A doesn't work you go to plan B.

Jerri and Jenna seemed to switch personalities from their earlier shows. I hope Rupert is savvy enough to get Ethan to join his alliance with Rudy. Otherwise the girls will grab Ethan up and it is bye-bye Rudy and Rupert.

Was it just me or did it seem like the "Rob M." Show? He definitely got more air time than all the other contestants. The guy knows how to speak in sound bites, that is for sure. I read that he hired a personal trainer before he went on this show...wonder how far he makes it.

I think Richard is the ONE person on this show that you can't underestimate.

As I was watching the show, I was surprised at Sue's behavior. Then I remembered that it wasn't that she was a great player on Survivor 1....she just rode on Richard's coattails until the end.

Looking forward to Thursday (well...actually I don't watch the show until Friday so I guess I am looking forward to Friday!)

Do they usually have a reward challenge on the first episode. I was thinking they don't but I could be wrong. I thought in the past there was only an immunity challenge on the first show.

Eldo, good point about using the eyeglasses to make fire. Too bad they didn't think of it.

Tarynsmom, you mentioned the other Jenna being very quiet. I have to wonder why she was even there. I remembered having read that her Mom died recently. I looked back at the obituary and it was in November. As we know she had cancer so I'm wondering why Jenna would go off to do another Survivor when her Mom was so sick. Oh well, to each his own.

My own observation, I really wish Richard would put some clothes on!

Same here. I thought I had remembered a previous Survivor where the tribe did not have fire and they were allowed to take their torches back to camp. Of course my memory isn't what it used to be. I wonder how long the producers will let it go on if the tribes don't get fire before they will step in a give it to them. As far as the dehydration goes, I do remember from the Africa edition hearing after the episode had aired that one of the contestants had to be given IV's for dehydration. It wasn't shown on the show.

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

I may not have time to send individual reminders for the contests this time around. Only a few of you need to update anything:
Anyone who had Tina to be booted in the Main Contest, needs to send me a replacement guess. If you do not do so you reduce your chances to win another 5 points.
Anyone who wants different Bonus C guesses needs to send me updated guesses.
Freesurfer, I need a different Bonus B guess from you. Pick someone no one else had picked.

After the 4 AM EST deadline tomorrow morning (Thursday, Feb 5) for show #2 has passed, I will post all our guesses on the appropriate threads.

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

Since Saboga has lost two immunity challenges and is now down to four members I could think that is a bad thing but in light of the fact that the challenges are balanced so each team has the same number of members competing and looking at the four that are left on the Saboga tribe I think things look good for them next week.

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

hee hee hee, how did you all like rudys final comment "you better watch out for me 'cause i have friends all over" what a fiesty 75 year old.

You have to love rupert for refusing to vote for him though. i wish that ethan rupert and rudy had gotten together and voted off one of the girls though. they think they are so in charge of the group and if the guys dont make an alliance rupert could be in trouble. actually if they dont win an immunity next time they will be in big trouble 2 girls and 1 guy against a team that can send out 3 guys??

boy did they mess up that immunity challenge last night. of course i wouldnt have thought of picking up the boat to dump it out but as soon as they saw another team do it they should have stopped the bailing and done it as well. they went from being in the lead to losing it!! argghhhh, how frustrating.

this all star survivor is strange. ususally it takes a few weeks to get down all the people and really get into the show but we already know everyone so we can follow along with the show and see the dynamics of their personalities come out.

what is up with mogo mogo? they couldnt get the fire going then they were freezing and still thirsty going to bed. everyone else had trouble but at least got it going?

that was super nice of saboga to give everyone the flint. I hope people remember that later. was mogo mogo the only team to look for/find the first key? I dont remember anyone else looking for it even. maybe that is why they didnt get the fire before night fall. that would be stupid. they have plenty of time to look for a key. it isnt like one key is going to do them any good.

great show as always

Re: Survivor All-Star Discussion thread

I thought it was another great show. I am so proud of Chapera for being smart as well as strong in the immunity challenge. I actually like how Rob M acts most of the time. It is Alicia that drives me most crazy with her attitude. Her and Richard, that is. The rest of Richards tribe really deal with him very calmly though. I wonder how bad the shark thing is next episode. I was sorry to see Rudy go, and proud of Rupert for not voting for him as he promised, and also kind of sad Rupert and Ethan and Rudy didn't get together to vote off Jenna L or Jerri.

Please note: I have modified the rules a bit for the Main contest, allowing changes more quickly in Q 2. I have also modified Bonus B a lot by making it possible for all of us to continue participating after we know the first tie-breaker number next week. Please read the rule changes and let me know if you do not understand anything.
